For me, the top 4 (in no particular order) will be two (of the three) promoted clubs and the two relegated clubs:

Comets
Old Ignatians
Navarino FC (heard some decent pickups)
Salisbury Villa

Hold on, if Div 1 is the Premier League, does it make this the Championship?

I know you guys are always strong and I've heard the same thing you say about Navarino.

Comets have quality players but I'm not sure about Salisbury Villa. A mate of mine at Comets said they were a very hard side.

Vipers looked good when we played them also.

Should be a very interesting year.

Very early stages right now.

Quite a few clubs have picked up new personnel so really im not too sure who will be getting promoted/relegated.

However as AHOS said, it will be an interesting season.

Half of our Bs squad is too young to know who he is  Had to explain to a few at training!

I spoke to the Comets coach John the other week and he was telling me that they have picked up a number of young lads from the Premier League Comets squad who haven't made the cut. If they add some youth to their experience they should be pretty tough.

Iggies seem to be a bit of a yo-yo team so with their new coach they could be right up there too to get back into Div 1 for 2010.

Plus I think Southern Breakers will be tough to beat at home (just the drive will wear out lots of players).

Villa to take the title, with comets, vipers, and navarino also high contenders. played agianst Villa comets and vipers last year and all teams easily capable of winning div2. Navarino with some good players in that team. Tsouguris (however you spell it) being a vital player in that team, who will bring alot. Good luck to all!

Top 3 (In no particular order)

Vipers
Villa
Iggies

I'm quietly confident

Comets didn't impress me at all, but maybe they had players out. The young players looked like rabbits caught in headlights, maybe they need time to adjust.

Villa are the toughest team in this div, always well organised and sharp and have apparently picked up well.

Does anyone know if goal machine Zelko Popovic is going to play for Budapest?

Good to see how the first round of results go, i think it will be close from top to bottom, i good start could get a team confident and get a good run on. we'll see.
If you're having Spurs problems I feel bad for you son

Did he play last year? In Div 3 two years ago he was practically unstoppable.

You cant predict as there are too many external factors like injuries, luck, suspensions and etc. On the basis of last year you would have to assume that Navarino, Iggies, Villa and Comets would be pretty tough to beat. Throw in a well respected Old Boys, a tough Budapest, a drive to Melb against the Breakers, fit Flinders boys, a tough and fit Monarchs and us little Vipers. Tough guess for any person. Mid-way through the year you'll get a good gauge of who will be fighting for promotion and relegation.

Bodo, your response is the reason why you are so difficult to score past, you are a thinker and a real scholar of the game. All the best for 2009, but not when we play against you!

Vipers for relegation. Coaches lack in so many areas, all the players are unfit and the committee are only interested in drinking beer.

navarino will seriously have to improve to do anything in div 2 next year, they were pony. Villa and Vipers did nothing to impress me on the one occasion I saw them last year. Comets however did. Iggies and Comets to fight it out.
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:

FC Adelaide/Salisbury Villa to fight out title

Followed by Iggies, Flinders, Comets, to fight out third.

FC Adelaide where the next best last year after the top 3 pack, and there was a clear difference between the top 3 and the rest of Div 2. Played against them a couple of weeks ago, and this doesn't look like a team that can win it, but there where definately players missing in there first team, wether they have retired, not come out to training yet, or where spread amongst the B's & C's, but if at full strength can do it.

Villa have the "X" factor.

Spot on Hawkesy.

I think Iggies, Comets and Villa are favourites.

Followed closely by FC Adelaide, Vipers, Flinders and Monarchs.

Navarino FC may find themselves in another relegation battle, unfortunately.

You make a very valid point, i did not see Vipers. Would explain why i wasn't impressed though, I think I'm thinking of R/B Eagles.
