50 Greatest Spurs Players

50 best SPURS players of all time.
Some great player in that list.
My three favourites are the 'Diamond Lights' duo and Gazza.

If you're having Spurs problems I feel bad for you son
I've got 99 problems but the Yids ain't one.
PS: Spurs remain a quality side, I don't care what you say. The Feyernoord Jubileum Tournament doesn't win itself, you know.

Way to take the piss out of yourself. No matter who you support, if you don't think Spurs have a great history full of some of the greatest players to play in England, then you have no business commenting on the game at all.Scudetto8687 wrote:Beat me to it.OldRedback wrote:.......did they manage 50?

Easily... Jurgen Klinsmann, Teddy Sheringham, Les Ferdinand, Paul Gascgoine, Glen Hoddle, Chris Waddle, David Ginola...all modern ones where we havent won much yet they are clearly all greats.
Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur

Funny, I rate Klinsmann as one of Inter's worst signings yet you have him first off the bat.
I don't like lies. I have understood your market where sometimes lies sell more than truth. This is your life and I don't like it. I understand your work and I have to work with you, but the protection of my group is much more important than you
Re: 50 Greatest Spurs Players
surely sol campbell is a bit low at 50, if he didnt leave to go to arsenal then surely he would have been top 20.
Garry Mabbutt, should have been higher than 32, he should have won a lot more england caps as well.
Ledley King at 25? are you kidding me? sure he had the potential and probably quality to be that high, but injuries and maybe sometimes poor form stopped him from reaching that.
Ray Clemence should have been higher, would have been one of the worlds top five keepers at the time, just too bad he was behind Peter Shilton for an england cap.
Jurgen Klinsmann was a star at spurs, 38 goals in 68 appearances says it all, but can you be in a club best 15 of all time after only two seasons, with the second season not as good as the first, and with a break in between, dont know about that one.
Gary Lineker at 9 was a star, 80 goals in 138 appearances, unbelievable, and he did it abroad too, one of the worlds greatest of all time that a lot of people forget about. Could easily have been top 5, maybe a few more years at the club would have helped.
Gazza is one of the greatest players to roam a football pitch, was such a shame that injuries hurt such a great player.
Haven't really heard much about the top two as a bit before my time, and I am not a spurs supporter, but would have to be great players to get above the likes of Gazza, Garry Lineker and Glen Hoddle

Add: Pat Jennings, Ray Clemence, Mike England, Jimmy Greaves, Martin Chivers, Steve Perryman, Cyril Knowles, Joe Kinnear, Ardiles, Villa, Clive Allen, Martin Peters, Alan Peters and Ralph Coates to name a few.SpursOnTheRise wrote:il capitano 31 wrote:They haven't won the league since black & white TV, how could you possibly have great players :?

Re: 50 Greatest Spurs Players
Nice one. In my experience, piss taking and banter only works when it's either funny and/or relevant. Hope that helps next time. Get a bit sick of hearing teenagers make comments about clubs like Spurs who have no idea about anything before the Premier League started. Now, if it was a list of the top 50 Premier League era players, you'd have a point.OldRedback wrote:Bit touchy there sunshine - lighten up - piss taking and banter is commenting on the game you idiot.TDGv2 wrote:Way to take the piss out of yourself. Re: 50 Greatest Spurs Players
It's all part of the game mate and probably all non Spurs fans would have had a chuckle. For the record, I grew up - in London by the way - knowing a Spurs team that included Villa, Ardiles, Tony Galvin, Archibald etc and then enjoyed watching Gazza, Waddle and Hoddle etc but still remember that in reality that Spurs have not really won anything of note for too long and no one can really see that situation changing for a while.
