Westies 2 - 1
Florina in penalties

Will be a great game. Florina should have back a few players that didn't play last week, with the likes of Big Trev and co.

Dunno yet haywood djablowme. Hammy still recovering and possibly will miss this week as really not important to play - so i'm told :( I think we have have 3 or 4 coming in, but 2 others not playing now from what i hear.
You boys had a great game sunday, especially that first half, even when u went 2 down. Peacy touched the ball 3 times in that half and twice was to pick the ball out of the net.
We just need to get our main players back and Azza trying some fringe players to see where our depth lies.
I see your still up to your usual tricks. but if you throw out the rod in with bait, your bound to get a bite
Looking forward to this sunday (NOT - as i won't be playing) but i can almost gaurantee u we won't play like that again this week.
Good luck and may the best team on the day, win. The tournament was well set up and only the hosts winning the comp will be a fitting tribute to the tournament. but we hope to spoil the party. :D

Is this not "ALLOWED" now that that SAASF is no longer identified by the FFA :?:

I believe there is a grey area with this subject (fed players able to play in both competitions, now that's a first) as the FFA asre not getting back to SAASF.

Will be interesting to see the outcome on this.

It was a "Tongue in Cheek" comment! Beau Singlewood played for Florina last week he had already signed at Playford, just wanted to know if he was just filling in or leaving Playford for Florina!

The winner of 3rd vs 4th will determine who hosts the event in 2011 after Florina next year so theres a little more to play for I think.
Easties will be keen for a win against Westies on Sunday it just might coincide with the opening of their new clubrooms perhaps.

Im not going to predict anything for the final :)

The Mayor of Salisbury Gillian Aldridge will be there on Sunday along with Bill & Alex (SAASL) with the presentation of trophy and prize money taking place immediately after the final game.

Im sure this concept will be around for a while I know all the clubs have enjoyed it and I thank them & the supporters for being part of it.
Good luck for the weekend.

Why wouldn't you just make it the winner host the competition??? & if the winner are the host then the runner up?

3rd & 4th shouldn't get anything, especially prize money!

It's a 4 team competition???

Its quite simple nugget being a 4 team comp it was agreed that each club get the opportunity to host the comp on a rotation basis and the order will be based on where you finish this year. Because Gardens hosted it this year Florina automatically are next because they finished above westies & easties. So whoever finishes 3rd out of east & west gets it after Florina. If anyone pulls out another club just takes their position.

With respect to prizemoney I think $750 for 1st, $350 for 2nd & $200 ea for 3rd & 4th is fair its not about Gardens making money. The clubs thought its a great idea as the money will help by equiptment for their teams. Sometimes you give a bit to get a bit.

Hope that answers your question mate.

$1500 total prize money, not bad. however i strongly feel this money should be used in the way food and free bar tab for all players to enjoy after there efforts over the last 3 weeks. Great way to start commeradery between clubs over a beer or two, which id like to see more of this year...thats what i call AMATEUR LEAGUE SOCCER........ (im sure the florina boys will like this idea)

O'right the rotation thing, that's fair I suppose.....

What about new clubs entering or is our pre-season East, West, Florina for next 4 years?

I still think 3rd & 4th shouldn't get prize money, maybe that can go towards the Bianco Cup

The competition worked well over 4 weeks with 4 teams gave teams enough time to assemble teams and a good lead up to the start of season. If you have more teams youll probably need more pitches or one earlier kick off, then you dont have the opportunity to play reserves trials etc as well.

The clubs can spend the prize money however they want be it beer, food, players trip or whatever they want. Obviously Gardens were able to generate money from bar & canteen sales through the hard work of their volunteers. Other clubs may not be able to create the turnover that Gardens have so they may not offer same amoint of prizemoney. No doubt we have set a benchmark and good luck to all the other clubs when its their turn. They may even be able to get a sponsor now they have plenty of time to organise it maybe Bianco might be interested

If you dont offer prizemoney or an incentive to all participants then maybe theyll lose interest. The idea has always been to make sure the concept in here long term and if things need to change or be improved then so be it.

I'll have a chat to all the clubs after the event to get some positive feedback for next year as Im more than happy to help out all clubs in organising it each year.

Always looking for a free ride

You call training standing in your kit with a fag & drink watching everyone else doing the warm up and ball work and then you jump into the game at the end and say you trained

The ladies will be putting on sandwiches after the last game make sure you save some for everyone else

Eric VanRyswyck was in devastating form for the West yesterday. I'm predicting he will be having a very big year in 09. Good to see Howarth back out for them too, he will definitely add to an already strong defence.

I saw enough from the East to suggest that they will be very competitve in div 2. East Boy looked solid as did a young blonde lad that they've picked up from Modbury.

I think the score was 5-2 to the West in the end.

What wa the final score in the final? Parafield were up one nil when I left at half time. Haywood was looking fit (have you lost a few mate?).

Speaking of weight- there were two player coaches yesterday who need to lay off the pies.
