Premier League 23's Player wanting advice
hey guys, i was wondering if anyone can help me, i currently play Premier League 23's and i would like to also play a competitive sunday league. My fitness is pretty exceptional and my touch, skill, and all of that kinda thing are of a high standerd. Now just so you guys know, i dont want like a league or club were i get hacked and chopped and maliciously... lol i can handle the rough stuff because of my experience in the premier league. Now im only 16 years old so would that matter? would i be allowed to play snrs?? thanks guys, your a funny bunch, ive read some of the posts and topics, your great haha.

Age is irrelevant. If you are good enough then you can play Seniors in any division.
And get this nonsense out of your head about the amateurs being a place to get hacked.
I suggest you play a year or two in one of the Division 1 sides and then go back to the Feds if you are good enough. You have plenty of years to play football.

He mate. Just wondering what the reason for leaving the premier league club is?? If you 16 there's no better place in my mind to be playing. The amatuer league is great if u can't train as much or play on saturdays, but the 23's comp is good for development. If the competition is no good anymore then sure come to amatuers. Age is irrelevant if u are as good as your saying u are. Amatuers ain't a hacking league anymore, there are some quality players playing. Some very experienced players also.
oh im not wanting too leave the premier league at all sorry if i gave ya that impression. Sorry for the comment about the hacking but thats all that we are told here in the PL. All we get told is that the amatuer league is a great place to play if ur recently out of jail and ur wanting to take out your anger on sum1 else then ur girlfriend. Im only teling you what i hear... i havent been here long enough to base an opinion for myself but i drove past... a match on sunday i think it was down near elizabeth... and i saw some gold team playing a red team? ne clues? lol sorry im so lost about whats going on i jumped straight into PL as soon as i got here (left from melbourne in jan) . And yeah the reason i was asking was i want to be playing football all i can. My parents have told me that they are willing to take me out of school to develop and play football professionally. So im just cruising around checking out some options before i make a decision. what nights do most teams train on?? i have gym and training all days except wenesday... and do u guys play sunday or saturday (seniors)
and as to the complete has been sod "marooned"? come train with us one night princess... then we will see who needs a few years to develop

many a player has tried to come across from the premier league and I am talking senior not 23's (2nd DIVISION really as Super league is DIV 1) and have had a rude shock when they have played DIV 1 Amateurs - ask Noarlunga Utd as they r in the Premier League how they fared against the Eliz. Downs in the Fed Cup - got a football lesson (and I dont play for Downs).
if u cum across from the Prem. League with a chip on ur shoulder and think u will be able to cruise through u r in for a big shock.
If I were u I would concentrate on trying to get into the 1st team for whoever u play for before looking at other options.

I agree with bigpond, I think you might be rating yourself a bit to highly lfc. You would have to be an exceptional u/23 premier league player to warrant a spot in the 1st team of one of the big amateur clubs such as the downs.
I'm very happy to have moved to West Ham, because I can play for a better team than Sheffield Wednesday.

Me thinks he is on the bench for 23's and needs some match time..Dicanio wrote:I agree with bigpond, I think you might be rating yourself a bit to highly lfc. You cant be serious mate. if you are that good that you are going to quit school for soccer then why think about amatuers. its quite obvious you are not getting a game and with a attitude like that if you where in my team i would kick the crap out of you at training. you need to stay where you are develope your skills learn from the experienced blokes in your team and continue to develope until you are mature enough to make a good player. its not just about skills and speed mate its about using your head alot of the time aswell.

one piece of advice if you want to play amatuers or even just venture to elizabeff, dont call anyone sod or princess it makes you sound like a fairy.

Who is this kid?? If you think your a star player coz you play 23's, or bench 23's when your 16 ain't that huge a deal mate. Not to blow my own trumpet but i was doing that as well at that age and i'm sure there are a few other forum guys that have too. Don't get too carried away buddy, you still gotta play first team yet. Wait till the girls, drinking, drugs, cars, clubbing kicks in and then see how you fair up. Long road ahead of ya yet pal.

Why is everyone beeing so mean to this poor young boy he was just asking a question and now he is getting pumped by everyone.
Whatever he was told about the Amatuer league he is now gonna believe cause you're all (bar a couple just giving advice) are getting stuck into him just cause he has a bit of confidence. I think some of you older blokes are just scared of another young kid in the league that can take the piss out of you on the park and make you feel a bit older than you all ready feel.
I do agree with an earlier comment, you might just want to wait til you've reached 18 19 and you know if you are really committed to soccer. I know a lot of people that have the same sort of interests but then met the night life and that became their passion.

glory boy wrote:TIP: dont hold onto the ball too long and you wont get hacked
My tip: Glory Boy is talking from experience. He wouldn't hold the ball for too long as he couldn't control it in the first place.
I've heard of more guys breaking thier legs in Prem League than Amateurs so I don't think that should stop anyone playing amateurs.
Personally you stay Prem unless work commitments means you can't train 3 nights a week, or you're playing just to have a kick with your mates.

GF who knows if more players in Prem league break their legs? If this is so it would be due to the fact Prem league players
1. Dont go in hard enough
2. Leave their leg hanging in a tackle to be kicked off
3. Lack of tackling technique
5. Dont know how to protect ones self
4. ETC. etc. and bad luck
Amatuer Players are more experienced (older), pysically stronger, do go in harder.
LFC if you think your that good, play the highest level you can, though it sounds to me you've got more attitude than ability.
If your worried about getting hacked go play netball its a non contact sport.

You want advise cockroach !
I've read most of your posts and think you talk yourself up a bit son !
You play for Enfield 23's, so what, no disrespect to Enfield but you would find it hard to make a Super league 19's side !
Concentrate on your game mate, get to a trial for a Super league side and enjoy this forum with inputs of your thoughts on the game and not yourself !
There's a lot of good adult sites on your pc where you can have a toss and get a more satisfying result
