Juventus vs Milan

Post by Juventino »

This is a huge match, to be played on Sunday night at the Olimpico di Torino.

Juventus still missing many players, but Zanetti has come back, while Legrottalie is out suspended this week. Camoranesi is a chance to return, it all depends on how he handles the potential hits his shoulder may recieve in a match. For Milan Gattuso is out (probably for the season) as well as a few others.

This will be on Rai and surely ESPN.

Just to get in the mood - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLgD0LIQRiU

A great day that was :D

Our injury list at the moment -

Buffon, Andrade, Zebina, Knezevic, Salihamidzic, Poulsen, Tiago, Camoranesi, Trezeguet and Iaquinta.

Hmmm, our injury list is shorter now than a month or so ago

Couple more beauties from the past.

07/08, a fine match ending 3-2 to Juve.

And 1994/95, a 1-0 Juventus win which confirmed that we were serious title challengers.

That was a great moment.

A bit further back in time, 1985/86, Juventus 1-0 Milan. L'ultima partita di Trapattoni sul panchina di Juventus, the end of a golden era .

This is also the day we became campioni d'Italia for the 22nd time. We had to beat Milan and hope Roma fucked up against Lecce, a side who was relegated and had not won away all season. Lecce won 3-2 :D :D :D. Grazie!

Juve-Milan "the real derby d'Italia"
Thurday 11 December, 2008
Juventus patron Lapo Elkann claims the match with Milan rather than Inter is “the real derby d’Italia.”
That title has always been assigned to Juve-Inter, as they were the biggest clubs in the country and had the widest support.

However, over the last two decades the Rossoneri have overtaken their cousins in terms of both fans and silverware.

“Juventus-Milan is the real derby d’Italia,” insisted Elkann, the heir to the Agnelli business empire.

“It is not a game like any other, because on the field we will see two of the most successful clubs in the world, two prestigious sides with packed trophy cabinets.”

They are both currently six points adrift of leaders Inter, but Elkann does not see it as a title decider.

“Only in January will be start to understand better the chances that each team has of winning the Scudetto.”

When asked which of the Milan stars he would like to ‘steal’ for this match, the Juve chief picked Ronaldinho.

“I choose him for the simple fact I love a football spectacle

Camoranesi out, Salihamidizc in the squad. Camo still feels pain in his shoulder even when kicking a ball so cannot play.

Juventus squad: Chiellini, Mellberg, Zanetti, Salihamidzic, Amauri, Iaquinta, Del Piero, Nedved, Chimenti, Manninger, Marchisio, Giovinco, Grygera, Sissoko, Ekdal, Molinaro, De Ceglie, Marchionni, Ariaudo, Pinsoglio.

Ronaldinho is in, Kaka a doubt.

Both teams look like they are a tad undermanned, unfortunately i think this will end a draw & inter will be 8pts clear at the top :(
hopefully though its 3-3 90' & then pippo scores the winner 94' to make it 4-3

3-1 at half time :D. A Del Piero penalty, then Pato equalised. Chiellini and Amauri with headers to put Juve in a commanding position.

  a great return to Turin for Zambrotta!

We played well and once the red card came we simply overpowered Milan. A shame Del Piero couldn't get the fifth, it was a fine dummy to set up the chance. Hopefully Nedved's injury problem is nothing serious. I liked the look of Molinaro, he was much improved tonight while Marchisio, De Ceglie and Sissoko continue to grow with every match played.

Amauri looked like he has hit a rich vein of form, Italy could be on a winner with the big Brazilian considering his options ...

Has a non-Italian person ever represented Italy ? just curious, as we see a lot of people swapping from their nation of birth to other countries, especially in the middle east where there is oil money...

In the 30's several Argentines with Italian parents won a WC for Italy, most countries had non nationals with not even a blood line tieing them to countries.

France are a joke, they take anyone from a former French state, just look at their WC winning side.

This could of been 6 or more, great display, particuarly the first half, Sissoko and Marchioni were brilliant in the middle, De Ceglie and Marchionni were great on the flanks and up front, Amauri and ADP did their job extremely well, all tied together with a massive rear gaurd display by Manninger included.
