Enfield Juniors are a shambles
What is going on at Enfield City with the junior coaches???
I work with one of the x junior coaches who had coached there the last few years and suddenly a new moron from Croydon comes into run the shop and is turfing out coaches left right and centre. My mate wants to coach next year but has been told he is not required. I would not think Enfield is the type of club that can afford to be telling coaches to move on especially if they have a good relationship with the parents and the kids they are coaching. He is now looking at other clubs and has been told by some of the parents they will bring there kids were ever he is coaching because all the kids look up to him and have become good friends with the other kids.
Clubs struggle to find junior coaches every single year and have to ask parents to do the job, Enfield for some reason think they are above the law. That may work this year, but next year they will be back in the same boat and begging for coaches again, I spent 6 years as a player at that club, they promise the world one year and deny it the next. What pisses me off even more, I had decided to come down and help him coach this year, so much for that happening.
Good on ya Enfield, thanks for taking care of those coaches who have loyalty and passion for coaching kids and ask for nothing in return.

Interesting you come on a public forum with this - why not go to the people involved (ie the junior committee) might be a better option?

God forbid that actually recruit some "qualified" coaches!
That would be a disaster... if that is in fact what they are trying to do.

Re: Enfield Juniors are a shambles
is brian powell still associated with the club?

Re: Enfield Juniors are a shambles
This club loses players every year. Only attracts players who can't get in anywhere else now. Won't be long before they close down.

Now that is a shame, it is hard to get ppl who do not have a direct connection to a team to coach, ie usually a Dad, Brian would be a welcome addition to any clubblack and white wrote:Brian Powell is at croydon...................... for now.

Re: Enfield Juniors are a shambles
If Enfield are struggling suggest people get behind them and turn the club around ( if this is whats required ) washing dirty laundry in public will not help anyone.
If you can help them then do so if you can't leave them alone.
Best of luck to ALL clubs at all levels in SA ( This is the best sport in the world )

John...be mindful .....each time you place a post on serious subject like junior football someone who has more endorsement than you will hunt you down.... junior football is in shambles... the opportunity to take the game to the next level lost in this garbage..clubs that want to provide the best pathway should be backed not openly ridiculed...if football and i repeat footabll is to grow get behind anyone that is willing to donate their time to its growth.........my email address is on both the FFSA list and the raiders website.....strange as it may seem i also round our club 5 ......6 days a week...this is the last post from me.

Last post from me too
I am hoping ALL clubs and all governing bodies can work on junior development.
I hope that Enfield can field strong teams in all age groups, however my goal at the Raiders is to ensure we are the best pathways club in SA and I will work on that 100%.
Just remember all readers if we all put in our development squads and SASI etc can be strong and we can all be proud of that.If we take cheap shoots at any club or others coaches where are we going ???????????????????????

Re: Enfield Juniors are a shambles
Well said. With parents life’s become ever more busy, it is becoming harder for people to donate there time, so clubs should welcome any help with open arms instead of burning there bridges. They never know what that person may provide the club in time to come, who knows that person may turn out to be your next major sponsor or president.back of the net wrote:John...be mindful .....each time you place a post on serious subject like junior football someone who has more endorsement than you will hunt you down.... junior football is in shambles... the opportunity to take the game to the next level lost in this garbage..clubs that want to provide the best pathway should be backed not openly ridiculed...if football and i repeat footabll is to grow get behind anyone that is willing to donate their time to its growth.........my email address is on both the FFSA list and the raiders website.....strange as it may seem i also round our club 5 ......6 days a week...this is the last post from me.
