Adelaide Villa appoint new coach for 2009.

Post by Jack Mehorf »

Adelaide Villa has appointed Rick Cerracchio as there new first team coach for 2009.

Rick will take over after a 2 year coaching absence due to family commitments from when he led Villa to the Sunday Division 1 title in 2005.

He takes on the roll after a successful 2 years under the guidance of Mick Dancer who led the club to Saturday Division 1 after winning the Division 3 title last year and securing second place thus promotion this year. Mick will carry on with the club on a playing front and possibly assist Rick in some way which is yet to be confirmed.

On behalf of the Adelaide Villa committee we would like to thank Mick for his unbelievable dedication and commitment over the last 2 years and reaching the targets set out by the Villa committee over this period and fully supports his decision not to continue on next year.

Rick will now be in charge of a very strong squad with plenty of depth and has the full backing of the club to secure whatever players he needs to strengthen it.

Looking forward to a massive challenge next year amongst the quality teams we will be facing in 2009.

Player coach mate, he's over come most of his injuries now, missed the first half of the season and won our club champion award ahead of Rick Derosa and Div 2 player of the year Tony Scalzi so that says something.

No better person than to lead from the front.

All goes well for 2009.

GO THE GREEN AND GOLD!

Looks like a great year in 2009. Rick is a great leader, coach and mentor. Hopefully some more lads decide to come out to Villa and train and hopefully play in the seniors.
Maybe a comeback from the local fireman is on the cards?????
It will be very, very dificult to end up in the top 3-4 in 2009, but with Rick on board, hopefully we get the results.

Preseason should be very interesting, long beach sessions followed by more road racing!
:(

Good luck to Mickey D, great man to have at the club, did very well for us.

GOOD LUCK VILLA FOR 2009

I believe that was a one year coaching absence Jack. Or doesn't coaching the Adelaide Villa Womens team to a Div 3 CHAMPIONSHIP in their inaugural year count!!!???

I believe that 2008 was Rick's toughest coaching assignment yet and has set him up well to take over the Head Coaching role once more

Obviously having Rick move on means there is now a coaching vacancy for the womens team. So any guys or girls out there who think they can handle Villa's "Champion Gals" should contact the club :D

Can you provide a team picture, before I decide to apply or not. Preferably highlighting the ones that are single.
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:

Colossus: One House

Costa: One Lunch

Oh and add in

Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

There's one called Ray (pronounced similar). She's pretty hot.
