Question
Hi Falcons Crest,
if you don't mind me asking, what part of the U14 East appointment looks very dubious and political?
Not trying to argue with you but I am relatively new to the scene and am not sure what you mean.

No one should question any of the appointments in terms of conflict because there is a lot of work involved, no payment of even expenses, a lot of time to be committed and at the end of a long season. They should be thanked.
Without "fathers" coaching their sons there would be alot of teams without coaches. The benefit of a quality coach taking the team even though his son plays in the team is very high to the other members.

I cannot believe some of the comments on this topic.
Firstly we have people suggesting we cannot have coaches involved if their sons are playing , why the hell not
Secondly we have people complaining that we shouldn't have people who are coaching at a club level involved....
So if we ban all parents and all club coaches who the hell do you think is going to coach the kids.
If I was involved at this level of coaching and I read these comments, I would feel that ignorant people were questioning my integrity and ideals.
For a start as a parent the last thing I would want to do is embarass my own child by selecting him if he is not up to scratch, it becomes obvious very quickly when this happens and noone enjoys it, least of all the child in question.
Anyone who puts up his hand to take on additional , unpaid responsibilities deserves credit and thanks , not innuendos and sly remarks about politics.

well povman 1964 , welcome to the real world and you will see what its all about with these selections , its a matter of who you know and how far you can help the person you want . sorry but i have seen it for 2 years and had parents tell me the coach ask them to change clubs , so when you hear this you have the right to ask who benefits .

Im afraid it happens people, there was an appointed coach in the west two years ago for the girls zone comp who selected six or seven players from his club and then proceded to poach the remaining players in the team he selected from other clubs to his club. It does leave people cynical and a bad feeling towards sending the kids out, but how do we fix this problem!!!!!

Not saying this doesn't happen , but what is the alternative, where else will you find coaches.
Plus players move clubs for a variety of reasons, some chasing glory others chasing the chance to get on the field and play.
When one coach can poach that number of players from one club to another then maybe questions should be asked about what was happening at the club they are from in the first place.
I do not like the real world , I shall retreat to whence I came.....

the problem is some not all coaches promise things to players and parents also get all blind as they beleive in there child . so they leave there club with blind thoughts, the other problem seems to be clubs are told to send 5-6 players to zone trials , true or false . if true why is it adel city send ten ? these ten then only pass the ball between them selves , to be looking good , sorry but zone needs to be looked at . and seriously . true its hard to find coaches , but its not impossible .
