11 Team Prem Divison in 2009

Post by BillShankly »

Seems like Stirling and Flinders are both going to go ahead and move into Prems.

Toros and Campbelltown will be staying up.

Im sure most players will appreciate the extra games, its good to see the league expanding.

How do others feel about it?

I heard Adelaide Olympic down at Underdale High were not having juniors next year. This means cant play in prems or maybe the rules have changed.

This could be good for the premier league only and this is the hard part, only if they can make a team to be competitive. The last thing the leagues wants is tope five or six split winning by cricket scores (No disrespect to Stirling or Flinders) no saying it is going to happen just need to make sure it doesn't.

Also as Leppski made mention of, games getting postponed need to be played within a set period of time not like this season otherwise it will become too hard to police and the season will become a farce trying to catch up games at the end.

With eleven will this make there be a bye again as there was with nine teams?

Wow that's awesome! Toros are staying in the Prems and also Flinders and Stirling are going up? Is that true??

Also...what happened in the end with the reserves? Are they out of the picture now or not sure yet? At our club nobody seems to know exactly how things are now...Does it mean that if you are 16 and were a reserve now you play again in the 17s?

Easy Tiger this is a relatively old topic considering how much has changed and happened since Bill posted this.

and also, are reserves really cut out? I went on the sawsa website some days ago but there was nothing there and everything seems like a rumor but will be important for players next year! soon there are trials for all clubs, so if you are a reserve and you want to stay with a prem club you have to either make the prem team or play U17 right?

There's been some suggestion that there will be no restrictions (age permitting) in the movement of players in U17 and Premier League. But i understand the finer details of the player movement rules are still being hashed out

yeah I just saw that gubs...
now the young ones are going to stay longer in U17s and the other ones are going to go to D2/3 or change club if they want to be playing at a decent level. But D2/3 clubs will get screwed I reckon...and are the juniors supposed to move to D2 now before they go to prems or there is a direct 'jump' 17-prems? Because I don't know how much 'development' young players will get in the D2 league
