DIV 4 Disgrace

I watched Olympic VS Modbury today the scenario was if Modbury won or drew they won the league if Olympic won they won the league on goal average.

Olympic and Modbury have been the best 2 clubs all year (followed by the Downs)

How can you change the time you play in the last game of the season and STACK your side to get a win? Isnt there some sort of rule that can stop this happening? I dont think its right, div 4 is a learning league BUT the girls that played for Olympic today had definetly played in a division higher. If thats what you have to do to win the League well in my opinion thats as close to CHEATING as you can get!

I hope the rumours are true that OLYMPIC are in as much debt as Ive heard and the Club folds. The sooner the better.

I think its PATHETIC that this can happen, does SAWSA have some sort of rule to stop this happening? do you have to play a certain amount of games to be eligable, can you play down a division or 2 without any repocusion???

POOR FORM on Olympics behalf, theres a way to win and you guys didnt show it today and well done to Modbury at least te 15 on the card had played all year.

Theres a way to win and theres a way to cheat the system to win. Olympic took the soft option and I'd be embaressed to be a part of it.

There are rules. Because Olympics next highest team is the reserves side they are allowed to play a max of 4 reserves players in their div 4 side. I think the rules state that a 'reserves' player is someone who has played either 4 or 5 games in reserves (someone correct me if i'm wrong).

Complaining about Metro stacking their reserves side and yet by the sounds of things, Olympic did EXACTLY the same.

No not at 1pm the game the DIV 4 game was changed to 3pm, it was Olympics home game.

Maybe the EPL rules should come in (If possible) the last games of the season for all divisions kick off at the same time.

I wasnt aware of this happening in any other division?

Olympic had a massive whinge about Metro "dropping" players to win reserves league. (metro refers to their reserves side as the 1pm side)

OMG i play for a div 4 club also and i was very very disappointed to see what was happening as olympic was not the only club dooing it (but they were one of the worst) we had most of our team playing for the first time ever and came up against olympic at the beggining of the season, it was a huge discrace to see many of their players down from the higher division!!
this made many people in my team and im sure others feel very insecure about playing for the first time with things like this happening!
and for teams like ours with no other womens teams above there was NO chance of us ever winning!!!!
IT IS A DIV 4 LEAGUE GIVE THE GIRLS A GO AND PLAY YOUR DIV 4 GIRLS!!!! IT IS NOT FAIR TO TEAMS THAT FOLLOW THE RULES!!!!!

exactly i think it is so pathetic that teams act in this way, how are people supposed to learn and enjoy a sport when they are playing with people with a much higher level of experience! there are different divisions for a reason!!!!

ok LETS get some facts straight rather than making assumptions.

WHY would Olympic have changed their kick off time? The Div 4 team's kick off has been at 3pm ALL year, just as it was yesterday. WHY would they change a kick off time when NO other games were being played that day by any other team in the club? It would make no difference!

as for stacking players, are you SERIOUS????? thanks, but we are not Metro!! there were 3 players who have ALL played over 5 or more games for the div 4's. if people are seriously concerned, get the match sheets and tell us who these 'players' are. Cos anyone who was at the game, or knows the girls who have played for this team, would see that Olympic hasnt, nor will, stack their team.

okay to everyone who thinks olympic stacked, cheated and changed the time whatever here is the real deal:


1. we did not change time at all we have played at 3 all season
2. modbury were the one's that asked to bring the game forward

so i dunno where its our fault for somehow changing the right time of the game which was at our ground

we did nth wrong we played like a team should play and won a great game dnt forget the score was 6-0 and modbury had all the free kicks lol in the game

and dnt try matching this game with the metro game cause its nth like that game
