Bosnians boosted by magnificent seven

Post by TM87 »

Miroslav Blažević's Bosnia-Herzegovina side produced a devastating display in Zenica where they bounced back from losing to Spain with a record win in their Group 5 qualifier against Estonia.

Misimović treble
Neither the Bosnia-Herzegovina national side nor coach Blažević himself had previously achieved a victory on the scale of this 7-0 triumph at the Bilino Polje Stadium, and the players received rapturous applause at the final whistle after Zvjezdan Misimović's hat-trick, two goals from Edin Džeko and further strikes from Zlatan Muslimović and Senijad Ibričić left the Estonia defence in tatters.

Hat-trick hero
Estonia, beaten narrowly by Belgium last weekend, actually created the first two chances of the evening but once Misimović opened the scoring on 24 minutes the floodgates opened. Six minutes later, the same player made it two from the penalty spot after Samir Muratović was fouled by Taavi Rähn and he completed his hat-trick eleven minutes after the restart.

Wolfsburg influence
Misimović's hat-trick strike precipitated a sublime sequence of three goals in five minutes, with Muslimovic and Džeko both finding the net before the hour. Misimović's VfL Wolfsburg team-mate Džeko then made it six before Ibričić completed the rout late on. This was the biggest win of the European qualifiers to date and will ensure Bosnia-Herzegovina head to Istanbul to face Turkey in October in high spirits. As for Estonia, they are unlikely to receive too much sympathy from their next opponents, European champions Spain.
Looking forward to the Turkey Clash.

yea true that, but a win wasn't expected for them anyways.. it is France after all.. Would have been better if they lost to Kazakhstan or someone like that at home :D

what was much sweeter was croatias 1-4 loss at home! Never been beaten at the Maksimir prior to this hahahahahaha they became so cocky.. but its good that you guys brought them down to earth..

Blažević salutes unrelenting Bosnians
Bosnia-Herzegovina are celebrating the biggest win in their history after a 7-0 drubbing of Estonia in Zenica, with coach Miroslav Blažević proud to say that "even when we were 5-0 up we kept playing like it was still 0-0".

Rich vein
Bosnia-Herzegovina showed plenty of endeavour in their 1-0 loss in Spain in their opening FIFA World Cup qualifying Group 5 game on Saturday, and a similar work-rate produced a rich vein of goals at home on Wednesday, with Zvjezdan Misimović scoring a hat-trick, Edin Džeko hitting two and further strikes from Zlatan Muslimović and Senijad Ibričić. "After the match against Spain I said that this team has character and potential," said the 73-year-old Blažević. "Now we have proved it."

No let-up
Estonia had also fought bravely in their opening game, losing 3-2 in Belgium, but had no answer at the Bilino Polje Stadium. "I am thrilled to have given our fans this important victory," said Blažević. "I didn't expect it to be this convincing, but even though we scored seven times, we had even more chances. Even when we were 5-0 up we kept playing like it was still 0-0." Bosnia-Herzegovina meet Turkey and Armenia in their next qualifiers on 11 and 15 October respectively, and their tails are up. "Fans will continue to have something to cheer because we will play even better in this qualification round," promised the coach. "This is how we have to play in the future matches and if we do that, good results will come."
Promising signs ahead.

Shows how bright you are cause out of Zvjezdan Misimović scoring a hat-trick, Edin Džeko hitting two and further strikes from Zlatan Muslimović and Senijad Ibričić. None are from Herzegovina :clown:

You keep calling me Kemal man good to see you are up to date with your Turkish History

he likes him because of his name.. the MUSLIM part anyways.. because in the end he knows that he is a Muslim Turk as well dating back to 500 years ago!

to the turk clown acting as a greek: you ask any HSV fan and you will see what they say about Barbarez.. and HSV are the second most successful club in Germany, have never been relegated... only behind the giants Bayern..
