Metro United the best club NEVER

Post by batumgoesthedynamite »

what a joke metro united are, dropping 11 prems players just to secure the reserves league.

they deserve shit. what an embarassment. How did the reserve girls feel missing out on the opportunity to win the league after all the hard work they put in, making way for prems players.

what a joke of a club, no wonder there has been fighting, how many players are moving to other clubs from metro? 5 on last count, and im sure plenty more, 1 forum user has already had to change her posts from the club after she posted the honest truth.

all enzo has run down there is a circus.

Hiding behind stupid names is one thing however, is the information factual?

Secondly, Metro are the collingwood of the league. Good tryers, fluke a shit load of games ealry on in the season and then fail miserably.

Even good coaches get thew flick OR leave.

Collingwood are in the finals aren't they?
Must have been a fluke though, I mean, you can't win games based on skill these days.

yep agree olympic deserved to win it, watched the city v metros game and city were easily the better team, metros were soooooo lucky to get a goal, so guess the only way they could get anything out of the season was to put their prems in ressies league...........kinda sums it all up hey????

nice one shorty i liked dat and its true olympic were the best club this year :D they put there all in, to get to where they are and didnt change anything for the game and a.k.a fulham are the best too  and wat metro did was wrong cause in the end enzo jst looked liked he was scared that he was gonna loose the league and did the next thing he could think of cause he probs thought his reserves werent good enough to win which suks because they were the one's that got them there by dropping prems. and to me that looks like a coach with no belief in some of his players.

Im not taking sides but if a whole bunch of prems players were dropped on Sunday for Cup Final for ressies players (for some reason) would they react in the same way? For the reserves last sunday was probably their most exciting, biggest game of the season and other players were called in to take their places. I know its all within the rules but u have to look at the other side too

Maybe this is why ppl dont really like Metro, I duno

Okay... well... if facts are so important to you all (although I find that extremely hard to believe because there is so much rubbish on here) – how about you read the following so I (as a fully informed player) can inform you with exactly what happened on the weekend and fulfil your wonderful minds with factual data.

At the start of a very challenging pre-season, clear rules and guidelines were set out and agreed to by senior coaching staff AND players!
- There are not two teams but a squad of one
- We all play for the colours on our back, not our individual names or a mere time of the day. One team happens to play at 1 and the other at 3
- We play for Enzo and we do it with pride

Other facts
- The 1pm team did not get shafted! With injury and other issues, players for all over had to play in different teams including Division 2
- 11 "prems" players were not "dropped"
- All players were advised of their movements including those askd to fill the division 2 side
- What about the players that were "promoted" to the 3pm side. Talk to that - their form was good enough to be promoted - therefore someone had to take their spot!
- Out of the 31 man squad - 26 have played prems over the year (with regular in/exclusions based on fitness and form)
- Not sure if you noticed - I know I did but there were quite a few Olympic prems playing also. The keeper to name just one important position on the pitch!
- You can talk all you want about players wanting to leave Metro (which is rubbish mnd you) - but do you want to talk to all of those enquiring about joining? Look around your club because you may just be surprised!
- "Metro is the Collingwood of the league"... ludicrous. Talk to the amount of games actually won across the board and you then may have an argument.
- As for coaches getting the flick and leaving - name one that didn't leave for a legitimate reason?
- You can also talk all you want about Enzo, bad-mouthing him etc. Enzo put his best team out every week, the most un-selfish man you'll ever meet and puts in 110% to whatever he does. So what - our 3pm side didn't have the success they were after this season - it has to happen to someone. He has belief in every single one of us, including his staff, officials, committee and club.

Finally... if Olympic deserved to win it - they would have!

Defensive perhaps... passionate... definitely!

No... it will actually say Metro United - reserves league - WINNERS. You're right, i never claimed to change the league's approach of play, simply an internal process.

But thank you for once again bringing rise to "Metro United - reserves' league - WINNERS"...

And for the record...

Enzo has taught us that we are one senior squad, a collective, one club...! All that matters is the club and players we play with, irrespective of whether we play at 1pm and 3pm.

We play for the black, red and white on our back... not the acceptance of comments like yours on a forum.

So there are no colours on the front of ur strips?

And so if ur prems came 6th n reserves came 1st then on average u came 3.5th and dont really get anything?

Just trying to make light of a pretty nasty topic

gubs, according to you Metro came 3.5th and didn't get anything. Lets look at Fulham. (By the way, no attack at Fulham intended).
The best case scenario for Fulham's prems team is that they finish 1st, but they could possibly finish 2nd if not 3rd. Now, the Fulhams reserves team is currently 6th, and if they finish where they currently are then Fulham may technically (according to you) finish 3.5th as well. Therefore (according to you) they don't really get anything.

Hmm so remind me, what's your argument? And where's the logic in your statement?

yeh but fulhams ressies side is a much different one to metro's more experienced ressies most of the girls are still able to play 17s and some ever 15s they have a game to play which determines if they finish 4th 5th or 6th

Olympic didn’t play there Prems Keeper. Zaf has played 14 games in reserves this year and has missed a few through injuries. Olympics prem keeper quit half way through the season, so Zaf played 2 games to cover the gap some weeks.

Metro had Leppa playing in reserves on Sunday and we all know she is a quality keeper so I don’t know why she was playing down...

Id like to see who metros first choice goal keeper will be on Sunday, obviously Luksa coz she is metros PREM keeper at the moment.

Ok... To all you metro fans....

Donna was the ONLY player which played in the Olympic game on Sunday who has not played a game in Reserves this year so get your facts straight...

Just if you didnt know...
Metro prems - In the cup final 2008
Metro Reserves - CHAMPIONS of the league 2007/08
Metro Div 2's - Runners up of the league and in the cup final... 2008

Who are the 5 players leaving? Hey, if you want to be a club member let us know and we'll get you a supporters shirt... We have sold quite a few these days. You will also receive cheaper tickets to our club events. Let us know...
