...give a random player a yellow card on the match report thingy when they stuff up and can't match the yellow to the player who deserved it? a mate of mine has been suspended even though he can only recall recieving two yellows (both soft as well) all season. Is usually a well behaved gentleman on the pitch to boot.

Personally speaking, everytime I have booked someone I have known the number and marked it down. You guys are normally (well the one time I have reffed you) pretty good with your paperwork but my first suggestion would be to check your team sheets.

Perhaps, the wrong number was marked against the wrong player.

They usually ask the player to turn around so they can get the number so I very much doubt they do it randomly, but it's possible they ticked the wrong box (much like a typing error). I've only reffereed in an official capacity in Japan so I don't know how it's done here, but do both clubs get a copy of the match report after the game?

Pretty sure i'm next....Even though i embrace the Greek culture much more than ChickenWing.

Since i joined the club, my match time spent diving has dropped 50% (unlike other Eye-Ties at the Club)

ChickenWing took a dive last night at training! He was galloping off with the ball after successfully winning the ball in a clean tackle when he fell to the floor. He says he tripped but i know him better than that. He doesn't "Trip-over"

PS. With my "performances" this year, i've been ineligible to win B&F for a while now...

The same things happen for goals, time and time again we see goals awarded to wrong players. I have noticed this year the ref actually outlines the goals scorers and any cards before you sign the match card. It is at that point that any discrepancies are to be pointed out too him.

scared_june, I wasn't bringing this up cos it happened to me, I did cos it happened to my mate... I would never be so self-serving...

the only person taking this seriously is Shaken not Stirred and I applaude him for that... it is a serious issue that once again brings into question wtf are referees doing?!?! how hard is it to book a player on the spot and write down the correct number?!?!

and finally, I couldn't win a B&F at any club... best & FAIREST... lol

I crossed a ball last year, that the defender headed into his own net. I ran past the ref and showed him my number and he gave it to me. Even the coach questioned it and the ref replied' "he was having a good game, i thought he deserved it"

When I played indoor football in Perth the scoresheets didn't allow for own goals so the referees would award it to the nearest player to the ball at the time.

We had a similar situation when i was playing indoor in QLD the games had scorers (somewhat like netball) and the scoresheets provided they had numbers for each player however there was no number 1 the numbers were 1-9 so the keeper either couldnt score or had to wear a number from 1-9

I played at a place in brisbanes Metro area at BIS (Brisbane indoor sports centre) as i lived in the outer suburbs in a place called Cannon Hill BIS was only up the road and on the way home from work so it made it easy would love to know if there are any indoor places around adelaide of that quality never looked into it after moving

Keepers number traditionally was number 1 so our keeper assumed that was okay until he scored and it was marked down Indoor was quite a big deal up there but it doesnt seem to be here how come

I used to live in Carina and worked at the bus depot there. I don't know of the indoor centres there but I often went to watch various clubs play (eg. Bayside, Mooroondu, Capalaba etc.)

No, they don't or if some do, they shouldn't.

Your friend is unlucky and it should not have happened but to imply that it was due to a "stuff up" by the Referee is a bit unfair as well. Club managers are provided the team sheets after the game for their signature with the player passes, and they have a responsibility to validate what has been recorded on the team sheet. Once signed, it is a true and accurate record and they get a copy of both team sheets. If your friend or his club can confirm who should have received the caution on the day then I am sure that if you state your case to the SAASL that they would be receptive. Despite the perception of some, in my experience as a Club manager they have been a reasonable bunch of people.

That answers my question. If the club has signed it surely they would know who has what cards and known who was close to a suspension.
