Re: HAS SAWSA JOINED FFSA
Club delegates have the proposal and are supposed to be talking to their clubs over it. It seems most things have been sorted out between the FFSA and SAWSA, and it all seems to be a formality. Once the vote has been taken they announce it officially. It's going to be interesting since E&D and the Southern comp have joined in with the amateurs, that's why E&D and southern girls aren't going to be allowed into the zone champs this year!
Re: HAS SAWSA JOINED FFSA
I believe the other rego form beside SAWSA was FFA not FFSA. The ones I saw were.
Re: HAS SAWSA JOINED FFSA
Thats right beaches, they are FFA forms, as we all pay the NRF (National Registration Fee) it only makes sense that we lodge forms with the National body, aside from that i believe these forms were implemented to make any future transition over to FFSA smoother. If we go over we will probably only need to complete the FFA forms in future rather than those forms and also SAWSA forms. Will make registrations a lot quicker

Re: HAS SAWSA JOINED FFSA
The clubs I am aware of all seem to be going for option 3 on the vote, it seems it will happen ... good luck to them , now if we can just get SAASL and FFSA together we will be one ...
Re: HAS SAWSA JOINED FFSA
I think women's teams have more of a vested interest in joining than amateurs though povman. While I agree with you it would be great to all be under one banner, i think the carrot is way too small to entice the SAASL.
With the girls, we would lose our elite pathway for SAWSA players and would lose referees and funding from Dept Rec & Sport if we don't join up. Whats happening to E&D girls now with zone and state teams etc would happen to SAWSA girls in the future if we don't go over to SAWSA.
There is no incentive for the Amateurs to join, they look at it quite simply and say we have X amount of $$$ in the bank and FFSA just want us for our money. Most clubs that have Amateurs and Girls teams see the difference in cost already. $30 or something to register an Amateur player and $115 to register a female player and thats even in a low division that is considered "social". Amateur clubs just look at that and see the money running down the drain... You can talk until you're blue in the face but they just won't believe that their fees won't go up

Re: HAS SAWSA JOINED FFSA
So, wasn't there a SAWSA meeting last night where this was being voted on?
Anyone know the outcome?

Re: HAS SAWSA JOINED FFSA
SAWSA will be deregistered at the end of October this year, although the transition over to FFSA will begin from today, they won't take control over the competitions until next season, this is for budgetary reasons and very sensible.
All of the money left over after SAWSA have paid their liabilities will go into a non-operating bank account that will be managed by the new "Women's Standing Committee", they will need 3 signatures to take money out of that account, and 2 of those signatures will need to be from members of the Women's Standing Committee. They cannot use the money for operating costs and it can only be used for the Womens' game.
My understanding is that Wendy has been offered a position within FFSA post transition completed that will see her in a more senior role than the current FFSA Competitions Coordinator for the Men's League and the Junior Competitions Coordinator for the JPL. A Part-time Women's Competition Coordinator would be appointed to assist. Not sure if she has accepted the position or not, but i can't see why she wouldn't!!
As you may have seen advertised on the weekend they are also seeking a Female Development Officer, so it looks like they are already looking to the future and getting the staff together for the good of the women's game. More hands on deck can only be a good thing.
And for the record only one club voted against the motion, and one or two obstained

Re: HAS SAWSA JOINED FFSA
Good result Dr D. Maybe now sawsa and Wendy can get some weight behind the need to push this game of ours into the right direction AND get some much needed resources.
Then they can deal with the overview of the elite pathways in this state and clean it out and get SA womens football to where it should be.
For too long sawsa have been fighting a tough battle on their own. The bulleis always win.
Great move.

Re: HAS SAWSA JOINED FFSA
SAD GAL - perhaps you should consider applying for the Women's Development position. SAWSA and FFSA would prefer the position to be filled with a female and are encouraging people from clubs etc to apply.

Not sure where they were from. Not all delegates wear club shirts etc to the meetings
