In the game between Ingle Farm C2 and Eastern Warriors, the referee was both verbally and physically threatened. It happened right at the end of the game and the referee decided not to abandon the game. The result occurred after the player was red carded for Abusive Language.
Not good to hear. Seems like there are more incidents this year than less.

Re: Another Incident
That player - being the team captain really had it in for the ref lol
he was being quite nice to the Farms players even after the incident, but looked like he wanted to smack out the ref!
he got sent off.......took a while to come off, then tried to come back onto the pitch again and had to be restrained, Eastern Warriors players should have done better to subdue and calm him down
that being said, the ref himself aint no angel..........past few games have been very firm, perhaps too firm on all players with his zero tolerance approach to refereeing - which i totally respect, but there is a fine line between sportsmanship and being an anal nazi.
I believe this incident u need to see both sides of the story - but one can argue that the captain was at fault for losing his temper overall

I've found, as long as you dont argue with him, your fine. If you approach him in a nice way, he will tell you what the foul was for. Just dont try to disagree with him.
That said, there is no excuse for threats, both verbal and physical against a referee. I dont know the full incident but if it was one of our players, they would be kicked out of the club.
Re: Another Incident
Yeah i agree Jason
I mean, he has told me off or cautioned me in the past a few times - but always with a smile on his face - cos I meant no harm or being physically or verbally threatening towards anyone, or him especially
but I really think Eastern Warriors should be fined for that, if thats even possible, looked very very ugly and embarrassing for them......... :?
