With all the major injuries that are flying around at the moment I needed to get this message out. Read it, disregard it, act on it, do whatever you want but I’m sure there are some people out there who will be interested it in.
Straight off the bat it is promoting my business and I will make money out of it, but I want to flick some of that money back to the club of any members who takes it out with me.
This fascinating post is regarding a thing called income protection insurance. What it does is pay you 75% of your current income if you are unable to work due to injury or illness. Depending on how you set it up you can also receive lump sum payments for certain injuries (ie broken bones). One of our players came off his mountain bike and broke his wrist and received 2 months of his benefit salary and bought a new plasma.
I’ll give you an example of the policy and the cost of it. This will be for a 30 year old on $50,000 working in an admin role. They will receive $3,130 each month after 30 days if they can’t work due to injury or illness until they go back to work or reach age 65. The cost for this cover is $60 per month and is 100% tax deductible to you. On the plasma example above you would receive $6,260.
There are many variables including age, income, occupation, benefits and we can modify policies to provide the right level of benefit at a cost you are comfortable with. To get a good idea of how it would work for you, send me a message with your contact details and I’ll give you a call to discuss.
You may also be able to get a similar cover through your super so if you already have a relationship with someone who can help you out speak to them. As mentioned I thought it would be an interesting post for some people who don’t know about it. Lets not kid ourselves, I wouldn’t mind making some coin either.
I won’t limit this to players so if an uncle gets cover through me and lets me know he came via Old Iggies (not picking on you Hawkesy just came to mind) I’ll give Iggies a cheque for $150 if his case completes.
Piece of mind for yourself and $$$ for your club
