SAT DIV 2
Having played div 2 saturday for a couple of years i can honestly say that i think this season is going to be a lot closer than any other. Usually there are 2 or 3 bad teams who are always going to get relegated but having played Adelaide Uni 2 on the weekend (they are usually one of those teams) they have some quality players and are going to get points off a lot of teams. As for promotion- Sturt Marion are obviously now favourite and as for Adelaide Villa?? who knows. Any thoughts?

Agreed. Some interesting results in sat div 2 so far.
A 22 round tournament is a longer season than we're used to and could mean a spot at the top would be tough to defend.

I'm sure Adelaide Villa will bounce back. I read on this forum somewhere that they have 5 players out injured including Mark Sanger who is capable of scoring lots of goals ( althought he never did with our club :?
Also MA Hawks and FC Adelaide on their day can play good football so could be a close race in the end. Good luck for the season

we actually play adelaide uni this weekend....
what can we expect... being a uni team we are expecting them to be fairly young, run all day type team... any particular players we should look out for??

They were young fast and didn't really have major weaknesses that you might expect in recent years. We played their 1st team in the cup last year and this years div 2 side is better. They have a strong midfielder who is quick and good on the ball. He was thier best player. They played 5 across the middle with back 3. I didn't really notice thier strikers so i guess that could be thier weakness. They created lots but also let us in a lot of times. Fairly decent corners, lots of runners coming in from outside of the box.
What about cougars? you played them yet? any different from last year?
