poaching players

Post by PHE 7 »

1 week before the start of the season clubs are still trying to poach players even though they have signed with the club they are training and playing with. some people need to realise money is not everything when it comes to football. if we were all good and dedicated enough we would be playing at super league level making decent money there. so when you here of some loud mouth chairman throwing his money around trying to pursue one of your players it tends to piss you off a bit. no problem with it before the season but not 1 week before it starts so piss off parafield gardens

I think you can earn up to $99·99 per game before being classed as professional here. In my youth it was more like the coach saying "I have an account at said service station, you can fill your car up on that if you play for us".

as a former player and commitee member of parafield i have NEVER known sean or the club to throw money at players

all players get the same money for a win

so jets maybe your players are talkin shite or just cant man manage ur players

Make up your mind bloodypassit, why would we talk shite :?: we aren't the one's offering cash to one of our players a week before the season starts so the only shite is that this is a FACT that you say NEVER happens

Very amusing, especially when some of the posters from your club (Nuggett) have the gall to have a go at the Downs for poaching/paying players and you then go and do the same thing yourselves

I agree he is an absolute joke as a chairman and the gardens should be embarrassed with his behaviour. I know for a fact the amount of coin Nelly offers if it means keeping a player and or getting a new player to the club. I found the posts he made about the downs and money being splashed around hilarious when he is the worst one for it and now he's doing it again!!!

I think that this is the biggest load of crap Ive heard. Maybe Im not a good player anymore BUT I left Gardens this year to go to TTG as I cant train Tue and Thu due to coaching commitments and I can say that neither Nelly or The Club offered me Money or anything Financial to stay we shook hands and wished each other the best. I still have ties at the Club my mates play there and they are all getting the same SMALL Compensation. Gardens dont need or want to buy a league. It stops in house fighting and it stops jealousy. But people come on here and say that Nelly or Gardens have offered Money to them to go to Gardens which Im 99.99% sure doesnt happen. The Treasurer is a good business man and No disrespects to him runs a reasonably tight ship. Cant wait til Sunday when the season starts to talk about games and results rather than crap rumours.

well your obviously not around the club as much as you were last year if your at ttg so really you can't say for sure what goes on at the moment! no disrespect you are a good player but if a 35 year old wants to leave, your not going to twist his arm but when your poaching a 24 year old that doesn't sound like crap to me. there is definently a reason why we don't hear from nugget 66 anymore don't we!

who gives a f u c k really your player is staying at the jets so get the clennex n dry your eyes mate
fucken clubs chase players before during and after the season,. Money, personal reasons, playing in a better side better club, chance of winning a league, playing regular 1st team or just the food can all be motivation for a player to leave a club for a new one.
so my advice to all and nelly is to get on with looking after the team you have.

dont wanna start putting friends names out there like that, as for not getting a run in pg's 1st team well you have gotta be joking when at the jets at the moment there are 8 players 24 and under in the 1st team at the moment all good enough to make your squad.

This topic has missed the point.
Players are not "poached" unless they are looking to be poached.
Players, like any employment situation, will look for the best opportunity for themselves,
possibly best environment for their partner or family, least amount of travel,
some it will be the least amount of training, some look for the best coach (or follow coaches around),
some the best remuneration, best peer group for themselves......etc.
Clubs will always advertise themselves either through networks or directly.
So in reality the issue of "poaching" doesn't exist.
Some people are loyal to clubs, some are loyal to coaches and some are loyal to their friends.

It's entertaining what people will do with selective editing of quotes !
