modbury jets v adelaide villa
Was in the neighbourhood and popped in to watch a very entertaining game. Jets will be pushing for a title if today is an example. good squad and very competitive. Final score was 4-1 to jets i believe. someone confirm? Villa looked ordinary with only scalzi and a young lad standing out. they may be in for a tough year if they play like that although two jets goals were from adelaide villa error, they also had a few players with serious injuries. jets had a good blend of youth and experience and looked fit. ground was very well looked after, curator b.o.g

Final scores
A grade Adelaide Villa 1 v Modbury 4
B grade Adelaide Villa 3 v Modbury 0
C grade Adelaide Villa 0 v Moddury (5-10)
Modbury were very well organised and ran all day. A real eye opener and wake up call for Villa which wont do them any harm what so ever. Villa havn't faced physical opposition and a quality opponent too many times over the last 18 months. Good luck to Modbury for 2008 and hope to play them again next year in division 1.
Biggest loss for Villa is the injury to Rick Derosa who is unreplaceble. Hope the lads can step up and take a leaf out of Tony Scalzi's book who stood out like dogs balls in a 1-4 loss.
Bring on Sturt Marion next week.

Re: modbury jets v adelaide villa
good even contest, with a few villa boys below par. State rep Rick Derosa will be sorely missed as he has been the spine of the team for the last 5 years. Jets fought all game and earnt the result leaving a few decisions for the villa coaching panel this week. Good to see some of the new boys firing for the b team so a few opportunities will be available this week with a few guys missing due to a wedding ( I Planned my wedding around the soccer season So three scalzis absent plus another four scalzis around other clubs, some family circle hey. Look forward to first game and playing with our backs against the walls, BRING IT ON

Yes the pitch is looking good we just hope that the rugby doesn't wreck all the good work. Was a great test going into the first league game tomorrow and was obvious that Villa were not used to being beaten so the game was played out right till the end with Scalzi really standing out for Villa. Big thanks to the Villa players who stayed round after the game and joined us for a few drinks and i expect to be playing you guys next year in Div 1.SAOPAOLO 10 wrote:Was in the neighbourhood and popped in to watch a very entertaining game.
