BREAKING NEWS: MANCINI QUITS INTER
Roberto Mancini has sensationally announced he is leaving Inter at the end of this season after their Champions League exit.
The Coach kept the news to himself during the interviews with Italian and foreign television stations, but at the start of his Press Conference with the Italian newspapers made the shock announcement.
“I think that these will be my last two and a half months on the Inter bench. After four years and even if I have another four years left on my contract, I will leave Inter. I have already told the players.”
However, when interviewed moments later, Julio Cruz and Esteban Cambiasso said that the Coach had not said anything of the sort in the locker room.
Mancini was asked if the Champions League elimination to Liverpool had played a part in this incredible decision.
“No, tonight’s defeat has nothing to do with it.”
To add to the layers of mystery, he then refused to confirm what he had said when he walked back out past the television cameras, insisting he would only talk about the game

Re: BREAKING NEWS: MANCINI QUITS INTER

Whats the matter Mancini, is it too hard for you to win silverware on the pitch ??
Maybe it was just the language barrier, i mean must be difficult at training having to interperate everything to the players in the foreign italian language.

He took the easy way out, why not just get Spanish lessons, surely Morratti can afford it.
Another Italian out, Matterazzi watch out, your one of the only few left, surely the pressure is building.

Oh, the day just gets better and better !!

What is the bet a South American multi lingual coach will replace Mancini next season.
Mancini isnt leaving... he got asked to. this is forced resignation.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: MANCINI QUITS INTER
true, but their coach that finally gelled something together is leaving is more than a consolation to Milan, Roma, Juventus, and all the rest of the teams that will beat them now and again next season.. Like Fiorentina, Reggina, Genoa, Udinese, etc

I've barely talked about Milan this season, they're too far down to worry about.
You should look forward to beating Roma and helping Inter win the scudetto. Closing the difference to 1.
Love these games you win it helps us, you lose you drop away from fourth it's win win for me.
Anyway don't you have somewhere else to be

ill be honest, I've never liked him - he's always failed to prepare the players and get them through a game once the big matches are upon him... im glad he's leaving!

Re: BREAKING NEWS: MANCINI QUITS INTER
That brilliant low shot by Fernando 'Face of a girl, touch of an assassin' Torres didn't just win the Inter - Liverpool match. It didn't just eliminate the much-vaunted champions of Italy. It threw the city of Milan into total depression.
As if Arsenal's humbling of Milan wasn't enough, the Reds' stunning victory on Tuesday has covered Milanesi football fans in a blanket of gloom.
We all knew Ancelotti's red-and-black side were on the verge of a major overhaul, even before the north London side knocked them out. But Rafa's boys have probably instigated an unexpected summer of upheaval for the Nerazurri.
They'll need a new manager for one - Roberto Mancini has said he's off. He denied linked with the result against Liverpool, but his constant failure in the Champions League has blighted an otherwise impressive tenure as Inter boss (two titles, one on the pitch, the other after calciopoli and a third on the way barring a miracle).
Several big-name players should follow the luxuriousl- dressed Mancini through the exit door. Captain Javier Zanetti. God bless you sir, your bank manager haircut, excellent charity work, powerful thighs and consistency. But now go. The Inter stalwart, for all his qualities, still holds onto the ball too long, tries to run the full length of the pitch without passing and then loses it. Call it a day Javier, let the next generation in.
Patrick Vieira has been one of the world's top midfielders for years, but he too is looking a spent force. He was barely noticeable against Liverpool. Luis Figo's time at the top level must be nearing the final chapter too.
Argentine striker Julio Cruz is the bit-part player who became a leading man, but he was never going to lead Inter to the Champions League. He may stay with the club for sentimental reasons, but expect the club to pay big cash for a super striker in the summer. Could a Milan v Inter scrap for Didier Drogba's services be on the cards? Cruz's compatriot Hernan Crespo is 32 and suffering. His days with the club must be numbered too.
One of the strengths of Mancini's Inter rein had been stability - traditionally the club buy a load of players every summer, unsettle the squad and knacker their scudetto challenge, but Mancini kept a nice, compact group. They have dominated Serie A, but have been found out in Europe.
The nucleus is there for a team which could challenge in the Champions League - Brazilian Julio Cesar in goal, full-back Maicon (also from Brazil), ultra-versatile Romanian defender Cristian Chivu, Argentine Esteban Cambiasso, the energetic and composed midfielder destroyer, Luis Jiminez, a skilful winger from Chile and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Swedish Ibra might have been rancid against Liverpool, but he is a special talent. And will shine again in Europe's top competition. Another gifted attacker, Adriano, is currently in Brazil with Sao Paulo on loan. The last two years have been tough for Adriano, including a family bereavement, relationship problems, a battle with alcohol, tear-ups with photographers and of course a dramatic loss of form. The next Inter coach should see the challenge to get the best out of Adriano as a gift.
Roberto Mancini has laid down fine foundations; he just couldn't deliver the finishing touch in the form of the Champions League. Being Inter coach is always a nightmare. But that doesn't stop it becoming a great job. In the right hands, the club could win everything. Mr. Mourinho - do you speak Italian?
