The Australia Cup & Promotion
When should the promotion start for the The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Asian Cup?
And what would you suggest as a good way of ensuring healthy crowds to the games?
For mine, I would start with targeting each and every club in S.A and Australia and invite them to attend the games. It needs to be supproted by EVERY women's club in S.A no iffs and no buts.I would look to run club 7 a side comps before the game and at half time. A round robin scenario with a prize pool.
Invite teams to nominate players who can attend training sessions for the various teams ie act as australian football ambasadors for the teams.
The way to ensure buy in from the clubs is to actively involve them in the tournament.
I don't want to see it fizzle out like the Festival Cup which was a very good tournament.
I await your suggestions.

I think what is required is a hell of a lot more information being put out there. If i didn't read the forum i wouldn't have had any idea that it was even on... Is the information being sent out to clubs and schools? Big question is though when the info is givin to clubs and schools will it get passed on to the players and families or over looked yet again?
All info was sent to club delegates including pricing.
Cost is only $5.00 for Adults and children under 15 free for a double header. Finals are more expensive.
Most of the Para hills womens club will be going to the Matildas match on the Saturday night.
Mind you, the final is on a Sunday at 2.30pm in the afternoon when all the prem games are on. Maybe we could ask SAWSA to postpone or change times of these matches so we can all go to the finals to support this wonderful op for womens soccer in SA

Dusty. As I feared. Publicity needs to be far more pervasive than it currently is.
Mrs Trainer: No disrespect, Info to club delegates is very limited AND will rely on it being promoted by them solely.
Hopefully the women's league will do as the boy's/men's league did and have a break during the World Cup.
I would be very dissapointed if we could not get hundreds and thousands of people to the Matildas games. If I were a betting person, I would say hundreds only!
Lets see. But Dusty's comments worry me as this might be the case with publicity.

yeh i think Fulham are postponing some of their games, mainly coz of state trips but gives more incentive to postpone when the Matildas are in townMrs Trainer wrote:All info was sent to club delegates including pricing.

I find it worrying the difference in the amount of information being passed on between premier level and lower levels.billy the kid wrote:Dusty. As I feared. Publicity needs to be far more pervasive than it currently is...

Having been involved in both these levels over the past ten years it seems to me that when playing at the top level you seem to get all the information, but playing in the lower levels the information just never seems to get there...
How does anyone expect to get a crowd in or even enough support to have it off like the guys did... if no-one actually knows the event is going on!
Has anyone else had similiar experiences...
Publicity People... Gotta do something...
here's an idea... you all might think im crazy but... if each of us on the forum print off say five copies of the information and pass it on to interested people there's a quick way to get the word around and it cheap publicity... Not to mention a constructive way to promote our game! It may or may not work but hey least its an idea.... anyone else got any idea's?
