2008 Fixtures

Post by TheWingBack »

Does anyone know when the 2008 Fixtures will be coming out. I know the league diary is available from the SAASL website but that doesn't show the fixtures yet.

Love that positive thought process...hopefully we'll get them a bit earlier than that. Especially when clubs have long away trips it gives some time to prepare travel options.

Fixtures 2008
Fixtures for the 2008 season are now being uploaded to the site. Every care has been taken to ensure club requests where possible have been met. 'C' team fixtures have also been loaded but play will commence with round 4 in line with the Main Club fixtures ie: W/End 04th 05th May 2008. The 'C' team fixtures though present are subject to confirmation and possible change, (subject to League Management Approval). Rounds 1,2 and 3 will be played on cup rounds where possible or the first available date.

Saturday Divisions 2 & 3 have been reformatted into 12 team divisions for this season only and will be amended for Season 2009 with 2 up and 4 down to cresate 10 team divisions again.

Over 24 hours later and still nothing on the website. I wonder what sort of timeframe they gave themselves for "loading" up the fixtures. Any half-decent system would do it in a matter of minutes.

Fixtures are on the site, looks like it's going to be a long season in Saturday Division 1 with 36 rounds with the last game of the season being 10/01/2009

At least 6 new sides in the saturday divisions then.
Division One
OISC (1)
BOSA
Gleeson
St Peters
Africa Utd
Wanderers
Adelaide Uni (1)
Navarino FC - did someone's name change???
Stirling
Modbury Jets

Division 2
Hahndorf - promoted from third
Adelaide Cougars
Sturt Marion
Adelaide Villa
MA Hawks
Flinders Uni (1)
Adelaide Uni (2) - promoted from fourth!
FC Adelaide
Adelaide Budapest
Cove
Southern Breakers
Monarchs

Division 3 - FUCK gonna be doing some petrol miles in this league
Strathalbyn
Burundi Eagles - anyone know anything about these guys?
Old Ignatians (2)
Comets
R/B Eagles - I assume this is the Red Blue Eagles?? Where do you play??
Flinders (2)
Vipers FC - formerly EA Patriots
Adelaide Tigers
Murray Bridge Utd
Torrens Valley
McClaren District
Salisbury Villa

Division 4 - only a 6 team league :?: Not C teams?

Munno Para
SA Kurds - anyone know anything?
Pontian Eagles
Mt Barker
Dream Plus ???????????????
Cove Red - Cove Cs???

Division 5 - I assume this is the C team League.

Stirling
Flinders
FC Adelaide - good to see growth!
Monarchs
Sturt Marion - back again!
St Peters
Adelaide Uni (2)
Hahndorf - not enough numbers for a fourth again?
Strathalbyn
Cove White - Is this the Sunday team coming over?

-------------------------------------------------------

Some new faces and quote a lot of growth in the Saturday divisions. Salisbury Villa and Adelaide Villa probably moved over at the right time, because the noises the SAASL is making suggest that next year Division 4 is going to be the new 'bottom' division in terms of Firsts and Reserves.

Good to see it picking up :!: 8)

Not sure on Navarino, can't even see who is missing. They play in Kidman Park, can't think of any previous saturday team that played there.

As for Cove, one of them is their origiinal saturday C side, those sure on the other, whether that is the sunday side moved over or they were talking about having an extra side this year.

Adelaide Uni (2) were in div 3 last year, I remember you scoring a penalty and the ref in the D's game refusing to blow for the end of the game as it approached 2.55.
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:

Colossus: One House

Costa: One Lunch

Oh and add in

Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

Burundi is a country in Africa which has had it's fair share of problems. Quite possibly another club formed by African refugees.
