Oldham Athletic Ground Development Finally Given Go Ahead
Resubmitted plans for the redevelopment of Oldham Athletic's stadium have been approved by the borough council.
Hundreds of flats, a hotel and a leisure centre will now be built at the Boundary Park site.
The multi-million pound scheme will help finance improvements to the football ground.
Fans demonstrated last month when councillors rejected the plans over traffic concerns. Some of the plans for flats have since been scaled down.
Council leader David Jones said: "This is good news not only for the club, but also the Borough.
"The club has worked closely with planning officers to address the concerns raised by the committee at the last meeting and subsequently the amended plans have been approved."
A proposal to upgrade the Broadway Stand was given the go-ahead at the committee meeting last month.
There is a picture there of what it should look like when finished.Should be heaps good,
we can make our charge back up the leagues into the championship and get back to where we should be playing
