Inzaghi Heaps Praise On Kaka And Pirlo

'Pippo' Inzaghi was in fine mood after his brace saw Milan through to a 3-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk, and praised Kaka and Andrea Pirlo for their contribution as he made it 62 Eurpopean goals for himself.

Inzaghi came on as a substitute and immediately opened the scoring for Milan. He then set up Kaka for the second, before scoring the third in injury time.

Pirlo and Kaka came up with the assists for his goals, and he was quick to acknowledge them.

"I play in a team that has allowed me to score many goals," he said. "Kaka did very well.

"He even gave me back a perfect assist later on."

The two goals mean he now has 62 European goals.

"Without this squad I never would have achieved these records in Europe," he continued.

"Andrea Pirlo also did brilliantly, as he knows me so well.

"The moment I stepped on to the field he told me to go deep, as their defence would struggle with that.

Asked about his extended stint on the bench, he was calm: "I have been in good shape for two weeks and was just waiting for my moment.

"I was suffering, as we lost against Roma and I hoped my time would come soon.

"I believe that hard work pays off and when I am in good shape, I can really make a difference. I am convinced results do come from hard training."

How do they classify 62 goals? I thought Raul, RVN and Sheva had the most goals in Europe - they have over 50 in the UCL dont they?
