Female Manager
There is a strong rumour brewing in South London that Millwall are interviewing a female manager for their vacant position.
Hope Powell is the current England women's manager.
It won't happen, it can't happen. Personally, I will not set foot in the Den while she is in charge. You cannot have a woman running a mens football team.

I say get whoever is best for the job! Chelsea this year have hired a female as part of the coaching staff who is involved in the sports physcology aspect of their preperation. I.e. getting them to not be affraid to take responsibility when a crunch win/lose moment occurs in the match!
So the players would clearly respect her! It's about man management and tactics in modern sport but old opinions die hard
fast back pedalling there!! i do however agree that maybe a female would be better as part of the coaching team, in a pyschological aspect, rather than manager..however, if she is qualified and can do the job..why not!pires7 wrote:redmum wrote:is that right?!pires7 wrote:Exactly, only a bloke would be obsessed enough with sport to talk about it all day on the internet etc.

a female in a psychology or fitness role but never in a full on tactical coaching of the game. The reason sexist or not is that they will not have respect of the players.redmum wrote:fast back pedalling there!! i do however agree that maybe a female would be better as part of the coaching team, in a pyschological aspect, rather than manager..however, if she is qualified and can do the job..why not!pires7 wrote:redmum wrote:is that right?!pires7 wrote:Exactly, only a bloke would be obsessed enough with sport to talk about it all day on the internet etc.

Look at the standard and pace of the female game, not even comparable as a player so therefore not even comparable for a manager.
Saying that with the comedy goalkeeping seen at Millwall this season, she'd fit right in.

I think plenty of fans will think the same as you, they will refuse to go to games but honestly it can't happenHawkesy wrote: It won't happen, it can't happen. Personally, I will not set foot in the Den while she is in charge. You cannot have a woman running a mens football team.
