IBRAHIMOVIC PERPLEXED BY FIFA OMISSION
Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is puzzled by his exclusion from the shortlist for the 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year award and says he has never played better in his whole life.
The Swedish superstar has made a sensational start to the current campaign and leads the Serie A scoring charts alongside David Treazeguet, after scoring seven goals in an as many league games.
Last season Ibra helped lead Inter to their first Scudetto on the field for 18 years and he is considered by many to be the most in-form player in Italy at this current moment.
Despite these credentials Ibrahimovic was not nominated by FIFA for their 2007 World Player of the Year award, a decision which his national coach Lars Lagerback has already described as “absurdâ€.
“It is normal that my dream is to become the best footballer in the world,†admitted Ibra.
“Despite what has been decided, I believe that I have never played so well in my whole life.â€
Ibrahimovic, who is currently preparing for his country’s Euro 2008 qualifier against Liechtenstein on Saturday, is not the only high-profile name to be left off FIFA’s 30-man shortlist. Francesco Totti, David Villa, Cesc Fabregas and Luca Toni also failed to make the cut.

Thats a fkn joke, cannot believe this, he's in the form of he's life. Paul Merson he deserves to be on that list, you wouldn't carry on about it becasue you don't deserve to be there.... So stop complaining about him not being on the list.

No idea comment.
Regardless I don't know why players care so much for individual awards, must be a stack of cash tied to them via their sponsors.
I don't like lies. I have understood your market where sometimes lies sell more than truth. This is your life and I don't like it. I understand your work and I have to work with you, but the protection of my group is much more important than you

In Ibra's case it's probably because he loves himself like you wouldn'y believe...97 wrote:English wrote:If this is his best and he aint on the list I think its time for a new profession.
