Yes Vale were too good, the much better side. They did miss too many chances in the first half that should have seen them a couple up at half time but in saying that Gully did hit the post and also forced a great save from Ross in goals for the vale.
Entertaining game and congrat's to all at the Vale.

I wouldnt say the Vale were the 'much better team', Gully started well but the Vale's experience came through in the end.
It was dissapointing to see Gully's tactics of hacking Brooksey and Nichols relentlessly especially in the first half, I thought they were better than that and I'm glad they lost because of that game plan.
They had lots of chances and were deserved leaders but as soon as Brooksey scored the pen it was curtains and the Vale looked like they were taking part in a training game.
Well done Ivan and the Vale.
The young boys said unto him....."go up baldhead, go up"......so he did, rose like a salmon and nodded the ball into the net......1 nil! :-)

Well done to the Farm!
great performances today from many players especially from Mark who man marked Johnny Manker out of the game and got best on field for his efforts.
Deserved winners, roll on next season

Well done Ivan and the Vale.
I don't think Ivan's behaviour toward the referee at the half time break deserves a "well done Ivan".
As for Gully's hacking tactics, you must have been watching a different game to the one I saw. Gully probably only made 1 illegal tackle all game and the player rightly was booked for it. Vale gave as good as they got, as you would expect from the Vale.

well done to the vale on winning but being a gully supporter they certainly were unlucky to not lift the trophy.yes vale certainly has s hit loads of chances which they didnt take but the pen was pretty soft.
but from that point on certainly vale ran out the game much better.
the gully defenders at times late on were ball watching a lil to much, hence the second goal.
maybe bf could of made the changes a lil better and brought kieren on late for a lil bit of pace that certainly would of worried the vale but he didnt, and he is the coach so unly boys.
by the way carra what a load of crap you wrote the vale gave out as good as they got.

first half very even with chris nichols missing a couple of headers and derek simpson hitting the post and ross making a good save on the stroke of half time.
Not sure where these hacking tactics were carra, i thought jules had brooksy in his pocket, only giving away the odd free.nick simpson made one bad challenge(which he was booked for) and that was on chad!!what are your thoughts then carra, brooksy was booked for elbowing his marker after 10 minutes. is elbowing in the nose considered striking???your thoughts??the vale started to dictate after the goal and once derek came of which changed our midfield shape.the vale had about 6-8 shots at goal none that troubled us but they were coming. they brought on branko and greavsie and their class showed, the penalty definitely was one and the winner came with just over 5 to go.. man of the match for me was eric ainsworth and i thought jules duval did a great job on brooksy for us(not bad for 18).after reading the score predictions given prior to the game the young gully side can be proud of their efforts in pushing the vale all the way..congrats to ivan and the vale boys they are good bunch of lads and good value on the park, crowd was excellent today, much better than bill baileys arrogant speech

Hacking tactics !!! Carra you knob!! Was talking to the Vale boys after the game no such talk from them, great bunch of lads the Vale boys!! They even said they thought we gave as good as they did!!As for Vale being much the better side "I think it was pretty even"so much for most people predicting to win in a canter to the Vale ? Brooksey with his experience against a 18 yo old (who held his own against "ELBOWS" brooksey all day)sold the penalty to the ref, which was a penalty!! but not a yellow card offence!! Great effort from the GULLY today and they can hold their heads high!! Well done to the Vale congrats on the cup!! Our boys have learnt a lot from today, and thats what it's all about!!! To the Gully boys, learn from today and lets get on with the job next year!!! GO YOU GULLIES !!!

robinfriday wht ever ur on ill hav a kilo of it.jules had brooks in his pocket r u 4 real?brooks showed the young boy wht it was all about 2day if the ref had put a stop on the rough tackles from behind im sure brooks wldnt hav had to revert to protecting himself with as you say with his elbows. As a u dont know u r aloud to hold ur own space as brooks was doing and if the ref had done something about jules rough play then he wldnt hav 2 had to use his elbows.Credit to the gully 4 the fight they put up but if the vale hadnt of won it wld hav been an injustice.Take ur one eye out and tell the story objectively

Seems you can only talk about the game objectively if you are a Vale supporter!
Apart from the laste 10 minutes I didn't witness too much difference between the 2 teams. Maybe the ex National league ring ins were the difference in the end.
I thought extra time would have been a fair result!

An entertaining game to watch as a neutral supporter yesterday, congrats to Gully for getting so close to the win, not many picked a close scoreline and I thought you guys did yourselves very proud. robinfriday well done on a great season, your lads did you proud. Little #7 for you played his heart out, he defitnely clocked up some miles yesterday, was a fantastic effort. Was derek injured? as I thought he was still your best option before he came off. Once again gully boys well done, it was just Vale's seasoned experience that saw them win the game in the end, couldnt question your endeavour and commitment.

Good to see you have got your computer out of cash converters or wait on mum and dad are asleep and you are sniffing around the animal fetish webs sites. If you want to find out who Legga and Steedy are we can meet you for a quite drink somewhere but that will depend on your parole officer.... :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

I wondered the same thing, some supporter he is.

I thought Mark deserved the man of the match award, he played a great game on Manca. McCombie played very well as well. Hard to pick best on ground for the Farm, so many of them played well. I thought Elrich, the Farm sweeper, didn't make a mistake all game.

West done to the West boys for a great game. Congrats to the Farm lads, man am I hung over today. One big night at the club last night.

Also, congrats to the Vale, I thought the Gully played well but lacked a little experience. Not sure about the penalty, I thought Brooksy dived. Very well taken second goal. All in all the Vale were the better side.

Congrats to the Ingle Farm boys...they played well yesterday!!
It was a tough game..thought the ref/linesmen were poor. I have to agree with OnthePiss, I thought your number 7 was Man of the match. Number 10 did his marking job and he is a decent player but he offered nothing else to the game!

Finally ..Well done to all my lads,
Onthepiss/Miller were excellent yesterday,
Morris,Dale,Grouse, Buffalo and Paul were solid at the back
Simon,Vinny, Manca,Coxy, Josh ran their socks off
We just missed a bit of quality in front of goal and a bit of luck!

Anyway, it has been a great season and it has been a pleasure coaching the B's.

I think Frenchie made some terrible decisions in the second half! Gully could & should of won that game!

i still think jules had him in his pocket all day , thats how close he was and did every thing asked of him, thats not to say that brooksy didnt have an influence, not just the penalty but a few flicks here and there but didnt get away from his marker to often.

derek did his hammy in the semi and we were surprised he got up for the final but was struggling about ten before he came off.

by the sounds i saw it as objectively as most of the neutrals on here. The better side won but were pushed all the way

and your super coach then josh!! learn to strap bandages first

I would have to agree there for BOG in the Reserves Final i would say Paul Jones as well he created a lot of chances for us...Mark had a good game on John but didn't really create much...

Was a lot of Yagers going down at the club, my head is throbbing 2day.

As for Belly mate he has gone soft hasn't shown up for the semi or final yday...we went around his place last night & took the cup there & woke him up...he is under the thumb.
We are Liverpool Football Club and the expectations are so high.
