Whats happened to drinking at other clubs?

Post by Keepa »

I've played in the Amateur league for a long time now and our club always tries to go and buy a beer after the game at opposing clubs, regardless of the result! I've noticed other clubs have stopped coming into our clubrooms the last year or so. I think people need to start leaving the game on the park and have a beer with the opposition. What do you think?? It might reduce the amount of crap that happens on the park :?:

agreed mate, Vista puts on free food after the game and very rarely does anyone stay. What happens on field can stay on field and you can laugh and joke about things over a beer afterwards.

Credit to the Florina boys they came in for some feed(even though we ran out of bread :)) and a beer, even though they lost a game they could of got something from. Inter also stayed back for a drink.

It is a bit sad to see that some clubs arent doing it anymore. Its disapointing when it doesnt happen. In Div 1 the majority of teams still stay back for at least a beer before they go. I dont know about the other divs. Sometimes its a case of just wanting to go home because some teams are miles away from peoples homes.

When I played in Div 1 we would normally head back into the clubs after the game. Clubs in that division though are alot more sociable than what you get in the lower divisions. Very few clubs even have a club room, and others that do dont exactly endear you to pop in for a bevie with one toothed supporters shouting tiresome and hilarious comments at the end of games such as 'fuck off back to your shanties you ferals'.

However any that take the time to come into our club, i feel the same should be done at theirs.

Oh wait we have had this topic... 3 times i think in the last month.. GET OVER IT FOR FECKS SAKE.

yes amateur league is partly about the social side but some people simply dont have the time on sunday night so not every one can be expected to stay around and have a beer.. or a coke for us p platers!
