The Downs hospitality was great after the match. Made us all feel welcome, would still be there drinking and having a laugh if it wasnt a sunday night.

Even gave one of our boys the goal of the match award.

The boys did Asteras proud in the cup this year, showed a lot of heart and hopefully earned some respect for the squad as a whole.

gully 2 croatia 1
boys played well turning around the result from the other week.coulda had a few more with some one on ones missed.pressure applied was good enabling us to push forward regularly.croatia pulled one back with 15 to go and put abit more pressure on us but we were able to keep them at bay and move into the last four. couple more croatians saw red but game in general played in good spirit.(i think theyve got more of a beef with the refs these days)

just queitly i went to the downs vs asteras game today.
downs dominated but it wasnt hard to see why asteras are top of div 4. went in the club afterwards and asteras packed the place out. what a bunch of lads. would love to see them move up to div 1 in a few years time. good game, great lads, good day.

cheers to the downs boys for their hospitality after the game...was a good game and gave us boys a bit of a taste of what its gonna be like in the higher divisions when we get there.

was also a good chance to get to know a few of the forum users and finally put a name to the faces.

as wanted to say thanks for the glass and drink card award for the goal of the game award. never seen this at any other club but would have rather swapped it for a result anyday :P

good luck in semi's lads

asteras are a great club. And as i told you there were more of you in our clubrooms tonight than most 1st civ clubs. The hand of friendship and support will be available to you and your club as long as needed. The Amateur league needs more clubs like yours. Go win your Div. Onwards and upwards.

Must agree the bum tearas showed their true metal with a good display on both sides of the pitch and heres to you boys getting a club to call your own and good luck in the future. Great banter and sorry about the famous fridge not being on show but Marooned put it between two bits of bread the night before and scoffed it down...
There is no I in team, but there is a u in suck...
