Roma linked with Szetela
Italian giants Roma are in talks to sign American starlet Danny Szetela, according to his agent.
The 20-year-old midfielder's contract with Major League Soccer expires at the end of the current season and the Columbus Crew star wants to explore his options in Europe.
Roma are one of several clubs to have been linked with a deal for the player, and appear to be leading the race for his signature.
However, agent Shep Messing revealed that Szetela has not ruled out staying with Columbus.
"Danny has been very consistent in saying that no matter what happens he does not want to leave now," Messing said in the Columbus Post-Dispatch.
"He wants to finish the season and help Columbus go as far as it can."
Some reports have said the deal with Roma is already done, but Messing denied this.
"It would be inaccurate to say that he has agreed," Messing said. "We're still in discussions with (MLS)."
