HOW? Italy topped their group beating Ghana and Czech Republic, the only bad result was a draw to USA. Still 7 points from the group stage not 4. it reminds me of past wc's were Italy has started slow however like usa 94.... were they only went through to knock outs as the top 3rd placed team in any group but R Baggio rallied them to the final.

Arnold himself said before the comp started that if they didnt reach the semi's it would be a failure... so winning the comp is barely a pass.. this tournament is poor, VERY POOR quality and if Australia were to win it its nothing big.. only reasonable countries that are participating are japs, kor and iran.. but even those countries are shite when you think about it..

Rocky10, the difference between Italy and Australia is that Italy can dive better.

As for those claiming winning the AC is no big deal, then you know nothing about football.

The Asian zone may lack 'first rank' countries like Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Germany, France and Holland but they are knocking on the door.

Apart from the aforementioned countries, who else is consistently better than the top four or five Asian countries?
