NEW AMATEUR TEAM

Post by New Kids on Da Block »

I was just wondering if anyone out there can help me in what needs to be done in setting up a new club, not sure if this is the right forum.

We are looking at starting a brand new team in the amateur league next year, I know what is required from the league but what I don’t know is when we come up with a name do we need to register this name with anyone other than the league? Do we need to have an ABN number so we can issue receipts to our sponsors?

We are all new at this and we are looking for some guidance, if anyone out there can help or point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. :)

Getting close Aldo, hopefully we will have this confirmed within the next two weeks, things are moving along nicely, looks like we are good to go with Public liability, we have been told by the league we have to wait till later this year and then put our application which they said all clubs need to do.

Question i do have though Aldo is do we have to register our club name with anyone else other than the league?

PS Bada Bing & Totti can you please take your argument somewhere else :D

It depends really - are you going to be incorporated, have an ABN, etc. Also, should consider if you are able to sell alcohol at your ground without a liquor licence.

No goalscorer we arent from Maco's, we are a bunch of mates who are currently playing all over the place in numerous different amateur clubs and collegiate league clubs, thought we would go alone and give it a crack :)
