gardens - vale ref

Post by BACK_OF_THE_NET »

just a couple of things i thought if you were brought down in the box on a goal scoring attempt its an instant send off ????? :?: :?: :?:

and why the %@#% did omalley get yellowed for sliding into the crowd WHAT A CROC OF @%$# he was playing for the ball IN PLAY it should of been a drop ball for interference, thought you were ment to stand a meter back from the side line some people just stand too close, give players room to play not just from this game too heaps of matches lately theres been a couple that ive seen, (even heard a couple of vale supporters say they seen it coming they should of moved they had time!!)

and shirt pulling, the ref was giving the shirt pullers 80% of the free kicks ??? why do people do this ??? because the opponent is a better player ??? :x :!:

If its the last defender then its suppose to be a red card but how often do you actually see the ref get his red out for it? If its in the box its gonna be a penalty and in most cases (except when omally tries to take it) is gonna cost a goal anyway.

Omally got a yellow for being a fark head and endangering spectators for no good reason. I don't give a fark how quick he might think he is but there was no way in hell we was ever going to keep it in. The slide marks on the ground didn't even start for 5 inches out of play. He was only a few inches away from completely taking out an 8 year old sitting in a chair. What the fark did you want him to do? back flip over his chair to avoid him? He slid right past me and everyone of us were behind the spectator line.

I'm gonna guess your from parafield and were on the other side of the pitch were you wouldn't have been able to see shyte.

Both sides played just as fair as each other. the ref sees whatever the ref sees. I guess you should get out there and ref since you seem to see the game so much better.

That's another thing I have noticed and found annoying since coming to Adelaide... and that's the number of people standing right on the side line. Annoying when you're trying to run the line. In Perth the clubs are supposed to put a rope around the ground, three meters from the sidelines. Perhaps they should install such a ruling here.

Dont get carried away.

Omalley tried to get the ball, he has every right to do this even if he is old and slow. You cant seriously think he thought I know Ill knock a kid off a chair. Ivan almost stopped a ball going out of play before and he just tried to get a ball out of reach. NO MALLICE AT ALL. He apologised to C.Nicholls and R.Hotka after the game . Yes there was a line yes the supporters were behind it. It was an accident.

Personally I think the game was great very hard fought very physical but not dirty. And how good is it for the game that 2 clubs and both teams Ressies and 1st team Draw 3-3 and you can go into the club and have a beer.

Dont get carried away with the ref although yes theres the last man thing BUT it would have spoilt a great game if there were 3 or 4 red cards.

if i took my kids to watch the soccer i wouldnt let them sit that close in case something like this does happen ive seen it before and said the same thing then, if that was me i probably do the same as omalley, why stand there and watch the ball go out he TRIED to keep it in whats wrong with that. come on give the players room to play the game. And endangering spectators it should be the other way around how many games of soccer do you see with spectators that close to the pitch !!!!!!!!

good idea why dont all clubs go for this safety for both players and spectators......
(put a rope around the ground, two meters from the sidelines)

i totally agree there should be some sort of rope and or line around the pitch. i have seen balls hit people in the face and also ive done it aswell where i have been off balance and ended up in the crowd. It happens kids have to be kept under control by their parents and made sure that they are far away from the line and they are not gonna get hurt!

Let me just put the omalley issue to rest as I was standing close enough to 'the slide' that I had to dodge out of the way...

The ball had been out of play for a good second or 2 and not once did omalley look at it before going to ground. he did not start sliding until he was off the pitch and I can assure every doubter, he was going 100% for Ivan... whom I might add was way too tricky and dodged with ease!

The small boy he nearly hit was my step brother. I am completely against violence in soccer and all for just playing the beautiful game but that was one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen and Omalley deserves to be severely injured. God knows he would've been had he hit anybody on the line!

Not strictly true, the offence that carries a red card is Denying an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity. So, the last defender could be on the half way line near the touchline and it wouldn't be a red card.

Obviously not having seen the incident I can't say but the ref might have deemed it to not be an obvious goal scoring opportunity and just a goal scoring attempt.

As mentioned had front row seats of the incident and was so outraged by such naive responses that I had to make a login and tell it how it actually happened... Did u see it and if so did u see it from half a metre away?

had front row seats did ya how much did they cost ya    , i was there too, he started to go for the ball on its way out thats why he slid theres no rules saying he cant, and whats this crap (Omalley deserves to be severely injured) and your against violence you twat... and how can you tell he was going for the ball 100% or ivan 100% you asked him did you ????? he still put the effort in, instead of watching the ball go out,
But its not just this incident its the fact that people stand way too close to play , especially kids, wont take much - a ball would even do a bit of damage.

Typical response from someone who was on the far side of the pitch. I saw it all and so did 50 others on the side of the pitch that it actually happened... And they say ricky's the dirtiest player in the league!!

Bollocks i got sent off bout 10 yards past the half way line in our defending half and about 5 yards in from the sideline. it was crap cause that was my 2nd or 3rd tackle bout 20 mins in and i got a straight red. not even a warning b4 that!!!

As i said your all a bunch of ferals- im surprised you get guys are even able to get refs the way you guys behave like animals. There have always been better teams than the likes of vale however refs are intimidated and most of their championship wins have been utter crap. some of the tackles i have seen over the years from these thugs is incredible. they basically bullied their way to championships because of piss weak refs scared to make the hard and right decision. Ive said my piece and its the F kin truth.

A player is sent off and shown the red car for the following 7 offences:

5. Denies an obvious goal scoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or penalty.
Sounds like your card was harsh But obviously I'm talking bollocks.
