div 2 sunday. big spending clubs
some of the clubs in div 2 this year are paying thier players big dollars.
Was just wondering if people think they are getting value for thier dollar,
since the club leading the league at the moment pays nothing.
Would especially like to here from people that play or follow pontians and gully, as i think they would have an interesting perspective on this topic. And yes , beer money counts as payments

Good stirring beachbum...3 page topic guaranteed.
What about players who have to pay the club to play? Do the players think they are getting value for their dollar from the club?
Or is it worth it to just wear their clubs strip and badge with pride while catching up with a few mates over a few drinks and smokes?
Interested to hear from people that play or follow Croatia on this topic.![](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f609.svg)

It does raise the point that this is the "AMATEUR" league:
–noun 1. a person who engages in a study, sport, or other activity for pleasure rather than for financial benefit or professional reasons.
2. an athlete who has never competed for payment or for a monetary prize.
If players want to get paid to play then maybe they should sign for an FFSA club.
How many players declare their income for the ATO???????

its funny isnt it, god knows who they are paying for because the results are not justifing the money. hope teams that pay players get spanked every weekBEACHBUM wrote:some of the clubs in div 2 this year are paying thier players big dollars.

Seriously, who cares if players are getting paid. We have never paid, and never will... and it ues to really bother me that other clubs are paying. But now, I really couldn't care less - if clubs want to spend/waste money, then it is their choice. It just feels even better when you knock them off!

Does a Curly Wurly for every goal count as payment?
I just giggle when teams deny it when its almost common knowledge.
I know some players in the past have said they are getting paid to try and reap rewards from another club but if we were paying players I'd say we were paying but the amount would not be up for discussion because that is private.
Whats the issue with saying you pay players?
Is it because they league forbids it?

The young boys said unto him....."go up baldhead, go up"......so he did, rose like a salmon and nodded the ball into the net......1 nil! ![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Great topic beachbum how would you like us to repsond? You guys are travelling well at the minute and good luck to ya. We lost on the weekend to a well organised side that had a bit of luck go their way in saying that they deserved to win. I have stated time and time again about player payments at the club you make your own mind up. Good luck this week mate.

having previously stated about beer money i'd say there hasnt been hiding like suggested.the fabricated amounts made by the so called non paying clubs is laughable and irrellevant. to continously slander these clubs gets a bit tiresome and boring, i find it funny that its only a division 2 subject fron certain clubs. whats the difference between 1 and 2? is it you dont play against them and continue not to?? the meaning of amateur used to be a term for the olympics also didnt it?? in div 1 i would think theres maybe 1,2 tops that dont pay beer money.in div 2 there maybe only a few that do pay beer money..but to hear it constantly brought up from 2 clubs in particular is getting boring..as aldo said should make it feel better if you do knock them off.. but same shite time and time again..as for onthepiss, if you got nothin at macos you were the only one, i know tryin to get a bite but a bit hypocritical..is it some clubs have the ability and others don't???

I heard that Southern Knights are on a win bonus - Financially the club is doing really well so far this year - if we get relegated we'll make a fortune
Seriously this has been done and dusted if you as a club can get enough funds together to pay players then good on you, if like us you can't then so be it!

At last, a topic that hasn't been done to death before, oh hang on, yes is HAS
I'm sure if any club in div 1 div2 had a spare 20k lying around they'd love to spend it on players, current members or attract new players to the club that otherwise wouldn't play there, and i'm sure all those that say they would play for nothing, would if offered, gladly recieve a bit of pocket money for there efforts.
vista doesn't have any money to go towards match payment and maybe never will so there you go.
