He's right Bulldog, I was a bit too hasty with the text message!!!
A's Won 0-4
B's Won 1-5
C's won 3-0
Dodgers won 2-0 (default)

Very comfortable performances and results by all 3 of our teams today.
The 3 teams were in control of each of their games within 10 minutes and never looked like they were going to get anything other than 3 points each.
Excellent work lads
Well done.
The young boys said unto him....."go up baldhead, go up"......so he did, rose like a salmon and nodded the ball into the net......1 nil! :-)

could have been 5-0 in the B's but for the amazing second half goalkeeping performance

Heard Vikings beat Plympton 5-3 in A's and 2-0 in B's

Correct Knight 7, bad result for the dogs at home
A's Plympton 3-5 Vikings
B's Plympton 0-2 Vikings

Congrats to Adel Vikings, first win for the club under the new name and first win for the old Royal Pk lads for some 20 league games.

correct gully lost 1-0

reserves won 5-1
c's drew 1-1 with mt barker

A game was very tight with very few chances for either side.0-0 at half time , big theo got the winner with 20 minutes left.gully piled on the pressure after then with a free kick cannoning off the post from 30 yards with 5-10 to go.goalies on either side only making 1-2 saves each.good spirited game with only one niggle.pontians had plenty of the ball in the first half and showed they could knock it around early.not much between 2 teams.

div 2 reserves - croatia 1 - 1 isc raptors

referee was hopeless, two red cards within 5 or so minutes and a failure to take control when tempers reached boiling point

questionable tactics at a free kick gave raptors the equaliser - although raptors pressed hard, croatia really deserved to walk away with the win..

Results are now up on the league website (we'll assume they are correct...).

Was surprised to see Raptors lose at home after a good showing at TTG last week.

Still early days but the league might be taking shape already...

you obviously didnt hang around long enough to hear the 'ooficial' ref explain to your players and supporters that the reserves ref made the right decision.

dont go slagging people off when you are obviously wrong!!!!!!!!!

you have to admit though that the raptors goal was first class!!!!! :D

you will find i said "questionable tactics" - yes i understand the ref made the correct decision at that moment, i was moreso referring to the fact that it was rather unsportsmanlike of the player.
yes we all want to score a goal, win a game etc but in that situation it would be more sportsmanlike to have let the wall assemble themselves before taking the kick, it also then makes it a fair challenge on goal.

ps. was a cracker free kick though

if the game is on, I'll will be there - due to a wedding, injuries and suspensions we had a 13 year old, a 15 year old and two guys in their mid fifties in the reserves on Sunday! Only 5 of the side that beat Pontians the week before - I understand 4 of the guys from the wedding will be back so hopefully game is on

Adelaide Vikings Clean Sweep

Post by Hammer Down Under »

Information correct, both of our teams won yesterday. The A's could have got in to double figures but for a missed penalty and some tired legs towards the end. Came from 1-0 down too. B's game was a very comfortable 2-0, their linesman put his flag up every time we attacked. (Even when someone ran through with the ball and didn't pass it !!)

What are you talking about!!!!!!!!!!!

Your player was warned by the ref a few times for abusive language(towards the ref) and he continued and continued.....what else could the ref do?????
The player that was sent off came to the ref at 1/2 time to talked to him and said he thought it was a little harsh but could understand why he was sent off.

Failure to take control......WTF?????????????

One of our players make a stupid tackle and I stress stupid and he was send off.....again what did you want the ref to do.....send the rest of the team off also????????

I think it shows that it will once again be a very tight league - Pontians have won 2 (or perhaps 1) as expected but have had 2 very close games - equally the Knights have lost 2 but we weren't far off the pace and were missing plenty yesterday - Vista have had an impressive start and Vikings look much better this year -long way to go a good run by anyside could make all the difference

A lot of people had written vista off this season due to some very average pre-season results but with the enclusion of some scoring talent and a few of the younger guys stepping up i think we are looking stronger than last year which i think we needed to be as i think this years standard of div 2 has gone up a bit, should be anouther close run thing

Yes a great young prospect he is. How long until this youngster is unleashed at first team level?

Dont think he's quite ready for that level just yet. Plenty of time for that!!
