Asteras and Wanderers - ground sharing at Veneto Club
Word around the traps is that the Wanderers are not too happy with having to share the Veneto Club with Asteras. Seems like the Veneto Club are cashing in on renting the ground out on both Saturday and Sunday.

The ground is in good condition, even with both teams playing on it, i dont think the pitch will get that hacked up, the Veneto Club people are great and they look after the ground, also i think they only play 4 times on the same weekend at home (Saturday/Sunday).
Plus there are clubs who have about 10 teams playing on thew one pitch on the same weekend, i dont think 4 teams on a weekend is going to damage it.
Wanderers and Asteras seem to be getting along well at training from what i see, we even have had scratch matches against eachother, its also suprising to see a Div 1 team only training for around 1 hour!
Trying to stir the pot Aldo?

billy, how would you know? You are hardly ever there and why are you using an Alias to post> What's wrong with your other Profile name?
The Wanderers start training well before Asteras so it seems as though they train for an hour.
The pitch is good condition now but if it rains this year it will more than likely turn to mud in a lot of areas.
Billy, please don't comment on the Wanderers actions or what they do at training. They are a good bunch of blokes.

Thanks sepultura. A leopard doesn't change its spots, and the VC is a very old leopard! Joe is a champ - he is helping out at training one night a week, and I'm trying to convince him to pull the boots on for another season!sepultura wrote:Your a good man Aldo Serena.
You talk the walk, walk the talk. You always make a lot of sense in your posts. The VC can smell the cash and their gona cash in on it.
Theres only so much cold sausages and wet towels they can provide.
Say Gday to Joe Grida. Another good man

having only just recently removed the knife that I was expertly stabbed in the back with by the VC president, I am amazed that he has the audacity to pull yet another manoeuvre like this one. Hopefully for the Veneto Club's sake the two sides can work things out and all goes well. As a member of the VC I am concerned with the way the committee has been conducting itself with regards to the existing resident soccer club of the grounds and the progress it has been making with regards to the improved shower facilities it has been promising to develop. I know a few people in both soccer clubs and they are top blokes. Like I said i hope things work out and wish the sides better luck in dealing with the management than i had!

and sep the club was built back in the mid 70's and the structure you see was only ever meant to be temporary - built entirely with volunteer labour. we should have had our own soccer club in the federation league however due to the unbelievable infighting that took place in the day nothing eventuated. There have been a series of incidents in the clubs history that should have seen it eclipse its sister club in melbourne in terms of size and prosperity however due to some petty jealousies etc the club has never reached its full potential and i fear at this point in time it never will.

I knew it wouldn't take you long to weigh into this debate vigilante. Many of the social clubs have made a rod for their own backs, and unfortunately are left with giant, ageing clubrooms and no-one to fill them. Just the odd 21st, Mother's Day dance, etc....
In the 80's and 90's, soccer was the devil for some reason, even though it attracted young energetic individuals from different backgrounds. The oldies just couldn't see it!

they are old fashioned and there was a bit of a face lift around, surely they would attract interests for small functions at the venue, hence which would increase revenue and more money to the club. You have to give a bit to get in return...
They have Both the Wanderers and Asteras there some they are getting something little, but assured that money is coming in from that aspect, but being tenants, need to accommodate in a way for us players.
Maybe they should look at some sponsorship or help from fellow Italians...lots of them in the construction game, and surely someone would be willing to help out in a way...even get some materials and volunteers...(qualified of course) for the main stuff. There has to be someone in the committee that knows another that will be able to do something.
Being a community club - Vennetto, if they approach it right, they could come out with some good help and goods...
