April = 7 Games NAPOLI

Post by sepultura »

With 13 games remaining for Napoli the month of April will be crucial in determining where they finish.

Napoli have 5 games at home and 8 away remaining

April starts with 2 blockbusters away from home,
Bologna and Juventus

followed 5 fixtures in which they will need to aim for maximum points.
Pescara (H), Treviso (A), Frosinone (A), Cesena (H), Albinoleffe (H). 1/5.

There is already talk that Reja will be going on the defensive vs Bologna. Uncharacteristic considering that Bologna's home record isnt as good as the rest of the chasing pack for the automatic second spot. Surely the vesuvians should be looking at expoliting that.

Q. How many points will Napoli take from the month of April???

Me think the 13point mark.

I think 13 points is very possible but I'm hopeing they can get a draw against Juve and at least win one away game to get 15 poinst. Fingers crossed.

BOLOGNA - 1 point
Being realistic there is no reason why we should not pick up maximum points vs Bologna. Our squad is riddled with talent and if Reja puts the correct formula up front we should come away with the points. This is a game we need to chase and bring some daylight between the 2 clubs.
Napoli will play cautious and therefore pick up a point which doesnt help either club in their quest for automatic promotion.

JUVENTUS - 0 points
Once again looking at a neutral point of view, Juve have won every game at home this season only drawing vs cellar dweller Arezzo. Sayin that the Vesuvians have only picked up 2 points out of 6 vs Arezzo. Juve will continue to win all their remaining home games amd win this division with ease. Napoli should employ full out attack. We either should get belted or snatch the first goal and let juve come at as for the rest of the game. Goal difference aint gona get us promoted.

PESCARA - 3 points
This is a home game and has 3 points written all over it. enough said. there should be no excuse coming away with anything less than the 3 points no matter what result we achieve vs juventus midweek.

TREVISO - 3 points
This is a team which has only been able to collect 6 out of a possible 30points vs the top 6 and i think Napoli will win by a slender margin.

FROSINONE - 1 point
This will be a game similar to Rimini away where the Neapolitans will struggle to get any momentum in their style of play and be happy with a point. This is a game we should target 3 points however it is an away game and in this division a point away from home no matter where that team is on the ladder is a point well earned.

CESENA - 3 points
This guy has been the find of the season. Papa Waigo comes to Sao Paolo and the Neapolitans will need to contain him in order to record a home win. Papa has scored 12 goals - none of them coming from the penalty spot. Last time the 2 teams met it was a 1-1 away draw with Papa to equalise only 2 minutes after the Vesuvians had taken the lead through Calaio.
2 early goals for the Naps and they should see off a Cesena side with their playoff aspirations extinguished.

ALBINOLEFFE - 1 point
The 1st of May will see another defferred game being played against the 2 draw team specialists. thus far both clubs have drawn 30 of their combined 59 games. Albino drawing 16 - 10 of those at home. This has DRAW DRAW DRAW written all over it.

12 points from 7 games aint automatic promotion material however a home win vs the Albinos for the Calcio Napoli will see them end with 14 points during this 7 game fixture list which will be good reward for their efforts.

Depending on other results 14 points will put them in good stead and will only have to meet Mantova (next game) and Genoa (last game) for the remaining 6 games to gain automatic promotion in Serie A.

All ahead for the boys in blue - San Gennaro is with you.

I agree with sepultura's predictions, but bad results against Bologna and Juve and the knives will be out for Reja.

sep outstanding review of the games and although it saddens me to say this you'll probably be right with your predictions as proven in the numerous discussions that i've had with you in the past. damn that crystal ball of yours.
