Post by Cerveza »

was just thinking about it how our squad is shaping for next year quite nicely . if we were to amazingly qualify for the next round would this mean we could register our new signings for the next stage ????

Are you sure?

In the UEFA Champions League you can make some limited changes to your squad for the next round.

PRELIMINARY REGISTRATION
Teams must lodge a Preliminary Squad List of 30 players with the AFC by February 11. Once the squad list has been received by the AFC, no player may be replaced or substituted.

Of the 30 players registered, three (3) may be non-citizens or foreign players.

Once a player is registered for one club, he cannot register for another club in the competition until the Knockout Stage.
Looks like it allows for changes in registration for the Knockout Stage - which is the final stage of the Cup

MATCH REGISTRATION
Clubs are required to file a Final Registration of 20 players (11 players and 9 substitutes) from the Preliminary Registration list at the Team Managers' meeting at least 24 hours before kick-off.

Only these 20 players are eligible to play in the match (unless passed as medically unfit to play).

Of the 20 players on the final registration list, only three (3) may be non-citizen or foreign players.

DISCIPLINE
A player who receives two (2) yellow cards during the competition shall automatically be suspended from the match following the match in which he received the second caution.

Single yellow cards received in the Group Stage will not be carried forward to Knockout Stage.

A player who receives an expulsion (a red card) during the competition shall automatically be suspended from the match following the match in which he received the expulsion. This will be carried forward to the Knockout Stage and to the next edition of the competition.

A player or club official expelled from the field of play shall remain suspended from further play until his case has been decided by the AFC Disciplinary Committee.
