almunia - had an amazing game in goals wasnt called upon as much as green but when he was it looked dangerous
eboue - solid first half (luv seeing playin rb as sagnas replacement where he belongs) quites in the second but the ball hardly went down the rite
gallas - has no form at the moment, his games are so inconsistant, i dont mind a central defender that pushes up once in a while but he thinks he's playing as a deep striker or something-TIT
silvestre - first couple of appearences u could see some jitters (obviously not playin for a while and new club) looking better everygame, imo is lookin like a much worthier starting partner to kolo then gallas
clichy - preety impartial didnt do anything wrong but not much great, just a quite game i suppose, all players have them. spose it was hard considering west ham were attacking thru the middle every time (see everyone has cought on gallas terrible form)
walcott - possibly misses the partnership with sagna? bit quite, had a great chance in the first half.
cesc - cesc is just coasting at the moment, perhaps needed more of a break over the summer or the weight of expectation is getting to him. dont get me wrong hes playin "well" but not as good as he can and usually is like his stuck on third gear at the mo
song - had a really solid game i thought (hes become our mister utility) fought hard pushed the ball around well (for the most part) not really starting material imo but a very needed and useful player 4 us
nasri - quite but for the same reason as walcott not much of the game was played with width
rvp - similar to cesc but stuck in 2nd not third lol, he just doesnt pose that dangerous spark often enuf (u know the one, that if he gets a shot off its gonna go straight through me and leave a hole)
bendtner - this kid needs to find some consistancy! terrible in the first amazing in the 2nd kids got something special and like walcott needs to start producing it far more regularly

subs
adebayor - i think the fear factor came out for west ham when he came on. they seemed a little more desperate cross the back and started making a few errors, good to see he came on and made an impact, get some form up and when eduardo is ready they'll tear up together :D
diaby - came to the club as a cb then pushed into cdm then into lm/rm now into cm/cam another mr utility, didnt really have time to make an impact but played well forwhat he was given
sagna - did he even get a touch????

*thought green and bellamy were brilliant
*thought faubert was lucky to remain on the pitch
*arsenal need to find that smooth passing again its not as good as it looked last year.

EDUARDO ONLY THREE WEEKS AWAY - YEAH BITCHES!

* "In France we all smoke. I've seen buses in France you would not believe it where you didn't see each other. We were driving home in coaches you had to open the windows in winter to see each other" - Arsene Wenger downplays William Gallas being lit up by photographers with a fag in his mouth as he left a London nightclub.

* "William played well today. He must have smoked something good" - The Arsenal manager, speaking after Gallas' led his side to a 2-0 win at West Ham.

'I would like to keep the positives tonight'

On his side’s performance…
“I believe that we produced an excellent game and the positive side is that we were really superior to Tottenham. We produced the game we wanted to and put a lot of energy into the performance. The negative side is that we didn’t win and I believe that was down to a lack of maturity. I would like to keep the positives tonight because I believe we were really outstanding and I don’t believe that the lack of maturity is linked to experience.

“The maturity will improve with intelligence. I think my players are intelligent and they will learn from their mistakes. In life you must make the maximum with what you have. In a game like tonight we did not get the result that was available, we must think ‘how did that happen?’ and ensure that it doesn’t happen again.”

On failing to kill off Spurs…
“I believe we were too cautious, we wanted to keep the ball in a negative way instead of scoring goals number five and six. We were not going forward with enough purpose and that is why we were punished. I believe that defensively we made some mistakes.

“At 4-2 they had given up but then we let them back into the game. Then at 4-3 they have nothing to lose. We have lost the ball in the middle and we had two opportunities to score goal number five but we lost the ball.”

On Spurs deserving their point…
“You have seen the game like I have seen it. I let you judge that and I believe that we were closer to scoring goal number five than we were to conceding two in the last three minutes. With one minute to go we were 4-2 up so you couldn’t expect to drop points here.”

On building the side up ahead of the weekend’s trip to Stoke…
“They are deflated, of course. It is difficult because the players are very, very disappointed so it is my job to do that [build them back up] and it is my job to make sure there is no resentment against the mistakes we made. We dropped two points tonight and it is unfortunate because all of our opponents and title contenders won. Because of what we produced tonight we should have won. We made the minimum with the quality of our game.

“I believe there are a lot of positives after the game and the team can take a lot of encouragement from that. Nowadays you only judge the game by the result. Tonight we either go back home and say ‘we are not good enough’ or we think we have a fantastic side coming out here so let’s work hard to make the maximum with what we have in the team.”

On dealing with the Redknapp factor…
“I do not want to develop on that because with two minutes to go it was not a factor. But two minutes later it is a factor, it is very difficult to prove scientifically that it works.”

On the decision to withdraw Van Persie and Walcott…
“If you don’t do it and they score two goals, everybody says you made a big mistake by not securing the game. I wanted to put some height in the team so that we wouldn’t concede from corners. I take some responsibility for that but then again it is difficult to prove that we would have scored more if they had stayed on. Maybe we would have conceded three, you never know.”

On the lack of a defensive midfielder…
“I don’t know because I feel that Denilson had another outstanding game today. When we conceded the goal we had our defensive midfielders on the pitch. We had Song on the pitch who is a defender and midfielder when we conceded the two goals.”

On conceding another goal of the season contender…
“It was a great goal. Our keeper was a bit advanced and when he went back he got a touch on the ball. We know Bentley can do that because he is a great finisher from long distance.”

Arsenal Recall Nordtveit From Salamanca Loan Spell
UD Salamanca have confirmed this evening that Arsenal have recalled defender Håvard Nordtveit from his 6 month loan spell early, after becoming unhappy with the amount of playing time the Norwegian has received in recent weeks.

The 18-year-old has been forced to play in an unfamiliar central midfield role during his time with the Union, as Salamanca charged to the summit of the Segunda division. Yet After scoring three times in two games for Norway’s Under 19 team two weeks ago, it was expected that Nordtveit would be given more playing time, but that hasn’t materialised.

The Gunners link side crashed out of the Copa Del Rey last month, and manager David Armaral has offered no reassurances over playing time towards the business end of the campaign. Håvard was allowed permission to skip training this morning, where he met with Richard Law and his agent, before it was confirmed that the prospect would return to London.

UDS are keen to stress that the choice is mutual, and does not effect future loan arrangements between the two clubs. Pedro Botelho will remain in Spain until the end of the season, but will be joined in January by an unknown South American striker.

Nordtveit is due at London Colney tomorrow, where further talks over his future will commence. It’s expected that Howie will be made available for loan again, although a spell with an English outfit seems the best option.

The shock recall also means that he will be in contention to feature during the forthcoming Carling Cup clash with Wigan at the Emirates next week.

Arsenal’s Miquel Promises To Be One For The Future

If the infamous phrase that ‘the road to the top is full of difficult challenges’ is led to be believed, then things bode well for Arsenal’s latest Spanish acquisition Ignasi Miquel.

The giant centre back started out like many youngsters, with his home town club. However, it just happened that his first employers were Barcelona - a club recognised world wide for their incredible calibre when it comes to youth development.

But after 5 years with the Catalan giants, the decision was made that Ignasi was not showing enough promise, and was subsequently released. It’s a tough moment for any player to be told they have no future, something Arsène Wenger mentioned last week. Yet as a teenager it’s even harder, as Barcelona was all he had known.

His determination to remain in the game showed as he dropped 5 divisions to play for lowly UD Cornella. With a Barcelona education under his belt, it was evident he would be the best player in their youth teams. The confidence this brought Miquel showed, soon he was playing for Cornella’s B outfit, leading to a recommendation by the Spanish National team coaches to keep an eye on the prospect.

Soon he was back in the big time. A call up to the Spain Under 16’s followed, where scouts from across the world gathered to watch a feared young Spanish team. At this level, they are certainly the team to beat, meaning Ignasi’s inclusion was nothing short of exceptional.

His eye catching performances in a combination of positions caught the eye, but the majority of his team mates were from the country’s biggest clubs. Real Madrid, Valencia and Atlético Madrid all had several representatives, along with Barcleona. His previous outfit must have been stunned at what would follow in the weeks after.

The media became entranced with his story, and a transfer battle swiftly began. Manchester United and Valencia both faxed trial offers, showing how his stock had risen in just a few months. Arsenal took the gamble of making a straight cash offer without a trial, Miquel and Cornella were delighted and an agreement was struck.

Several visits to the Emirates allowed the imposing defender a chance to get used to a big team again, indeed he even had dinner with his idol, Cesc Fabregas. At the start of the season, all the hype had gone, and it was time for the hard work to begin.

At 193cm he towers above many adults, never mind Under 16 players. A debut during the Zinedine Zidane Tournament must have been nerve racking, but the gentle giant showed his composure and style on the ball as the Gunners walked away with the trophy.

The League campaign is well underway now, and Miquel is already making advantage of his height, crashing in a goal against West Ham three weeks ago. It’s been a while since an exciting young defender came through the ranks, and although part of his education has been served in his home land, Ignasi possess all the true components of an Arsenal player.

He’s been forced to do it the hard way, but Ignasi Miquel is heading for the very top.

Injured Winger Barazite Considers Early Arsenal Return

Injured Arsenal winger Nacer Barazite is considering ending his 6 month loan spell at Derby County early, and returning to North London in a bid to speed up his recovery from a knee injury.

The 18-year-old Dutch Under 19 International joined The Rams on loan during the summer, and after a difficult first month, he slowly forced his way into Paul Jewell’s struggling outfit - helping end the Club’s year long wait for a League win with a stunning assist against Sheffield United.

But after a dangerous tackle from behind during the defeat to Blackpool last week, Nacer was left on a stretcher with suspected medial ligament damage. No snapping of the muscles was shown following a scan, although Derby are yet to put a firm timescale on his recovery.

Barazite’s deal with County is due to expire on December 31st, and it’s doubtful he will be back on the pitch before that date. It’s now a very real option that he will return to Arsenal and make use of the first class medical facilities at London Colney, before assessing his options in the new year.

There are reports that Arsenal is set to revive their £10 million deal for midfielding star Blaise Matuidi, at the end of the current season.

A move had been initiated this season, but Wenger was blocked by Matuidi’s current club St Etienne. However, the 21 year old still wants to play at the Emirates and Wenger is reportedly still interested for a summer move.

Matuidi said: “I asked myself questions at the end of August after Arsenal showed their interest. An opportunity to join them is not something ordinary. It gives you great self-esteem - it is Arsenal.

“At the end of the season we will have talks, anything is possible.”

“I did not talk to Wenger - but I did not get angry that St Etienne did not let me go.”

Romeyer, head of St Etienne, has confirmed rumours that he rejected Arsenal’s interest:

“Wenger called me at the end of August to ask if Blaise was for sale. He didn’t make an offer as Blaise was not for sale. Next June we will have a meeting with Blaise and his agent about his future.”

Cana get me!

lorik cana has suprisingly told how arsenal nearly signed him in the summer, but L'OM backed out right at the end." I thought i was going. they had just signed samir (Nasri) and then they contacted my agent. i spoke to arsene and we thrashed out a deal but L'OM pulled out because Djibril (cisse) left."Cana also went onto to say he was upset he didn't get to join the gunners, but hoped he could join them in the near future."i was down about not joining Arsenal and im still a bit down because i amire there players and the way they play, but hopefully in the future i will be able to join a club like Arsenal, but right now at the moment im just focused on L'OM."quizzed on whether he'd leave in January?" I don't know we'll wait and see."

Arsenal now ahead of Real Madrid for Ajax ace Huntelaar
Arsenal are moving for Ajax ace Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

Sport says Arsenal are moving ahead of Real Madrid in the battle for the Holland international.

The Gunners are assessing whether to meet Ajax's £20 million asking price for Huntelaar, though his sluggish start to the season hasn't dented Arsene Wenger's admiration for the forward.

"I must admit I do have interest in playing in the Premier League," said Huntelaar.

imo arsenal are lookin the worse we have for a very long time, i know we can still play very beautiful football, but we havnt got depth (have to many squad players not enuf quality starters), nor enuf passion (remember the days when u had henry, veira, adams, sol, pires ljundberg....ect they would kill themselves every game to do wat had to be done we dont have enuf players with that passion).

imo these r the problems that need adressing, and wat r some of the reasons we rnt lookin as good as we should or could

almunia - Is a very good keeper, cant really fault him, but to me he still isnt a first team top 4 keeper when u compare him to VanDerSar or cech (i have the same opinion of reina)

sagna - nothing bad to say at all, is the best rb in the league 4sure imo (wat a happy suprise packet he was last season, need to bring in more players with his energy and on feild commitment)

toure - is our captain, dont care wat anyone says. one could argue that he aint playing well of late but imo gallas is the issue, they havent nor will they, form a cohesive partnershipsomething that is horribly obvious and most fans here and on other forums have pointed out.

gallas - the only thing gallas brings r goals, for and against! perhaps should stop trying to get a healthy goal average and try and learn hoe to defend a set peice. 2nd largest problem with our defence (1st being decent overall depth). imo wenger is just being stubborn in his persitance of keeping him in startin 11 not to mention as captain (dont get me wrong im all for the manager keeping faith in his captain but u only can do so for so long)

clichy - almost the perfect lb. better then cashley and only real competitor for best lb in epl is evra (same person keeping out from the national team). hard to believe he is only 23  seems to have been their for years now. mayb a little work on crosses (but that me just being picky)

walcott - perhaps its pressure, i dont know. can be as vital as cesc or as useless as gallas. i suppose we just need to be patient (he is after all only 19) . he will get there just some time to find consistancy is needed.

cesc - looks burntout and a quarter the player he could (and should0 be at the moment. not really his fault. he barely has had a break and has heavy weight on his shoulders. wenger better fix the team up asap or he will leave the club within two years. and i for 1 wont blame him.

? - the position we know needs filling. so far we have seen eboue (a rb) denilson (should play a defncive game alongside cesc but stats show he is more attacking) and song (great squad player, bsolute utility player but not ready to be a first11 for another year or two, vital too push for a title with but only as depth, same with diaby)

nasri - this years sagna, our key signing for 08/09. has looked a little poor at times, but he will take time to get a real sense of consistancy bein in a new comp. and in his defence the games he has looked 'poor' he has had little service and the team around has looked just as bad

rvp - huge potential, but will we ever see it. how long can we b patient and wait for him. every time we start seeing him hit his potential he gets injured  .

ade - doesnt want to play for arsenal, wants to play for a big club and has the potential but not the passion. good player and enjoy him but there are better players for us out there

djourou - needs more of a go
eduardo - need him back asap! but will he b as good
rosicky - luv him to death (will cop a lota shit 4 this one) GOTTA GO!
eboue - cops a lot of shit, not his fault he is played in midfeild. great rb remember our high opinions of him b4 sagna
song - quality depth player
ramsey - needs more time but exciting
wilshere - as above
diaby - same as song
vela - needs more game time
bendtner - fuck i wish he would play to his potential

players we need
dm - yaya toure, lorik cana, gokhan inler (all perfect candidates)
cb - someone strong and good in the air, mertesacker :?: perhaps or some one similar richards(impossibale with the mancity financial situation(the ship has sailed))
st - huntelaar, david villa, we need to find a ruud, we create so many chances and they get wasted cos we dont have a 'poacher' (perhaps eduardo wen he is back)

your not the only one. rosicky was prob the most consistent for us when he wasent injured. he was always a major impact player, and its what arsenal need.

rosicky and eduardo, both are vital right now.

exactly and we r only a week or two b4 eduardo hits at least reserves - fuckin brilliant and desperatly needed we need someone who will hit the net

it saddens all gooners i think bout rosicky, me as much as the next guy but how long do we wait? even if he is fit in dec/jan it will still take a month or two to find some match fitness/confidence. he wont hit is potential heights in this season.
