Re: Calciomercato Serie A
Looking forward to an early morning wake up on Monday to watch Juve back in official action.
Good to see Pepe back in the squad as well.
Bit of a lull in Serie A transfer activity lately. Matri seems closer to Napoli by the day and apparently Quags is considering a few offers as well. If both leave, I think we need a new forward as Llorente is seemingly going to take a while to settle in.

And good to see the game tomorrow is on SBS.
Also, I checked the Rai guide and next weekend they are showing both Saturday matches (Verona - Milan and Sampdoria - Juventus). That was for Rai 1 (New York) but normally we get the same as them. So hopefully we'll see more than just two games if they are showing both Saturday ones.

Re: Calciomercato Serie A
Well, that was definitely worth waking up for!
That 5 minute spell in the second half where we scored the three goals was just awesome.
Plenty of positives. Tevez on the scoresheet in his first official game. Buffon pulled off some fantastic saves in goals. Barzagli I thought was close to man of the match, continues to get better with age. Candreva is a great player for Lazio, deserves his spot in the National team that's for sure.
Only negative was the Marchisio injury. Any indication on how serious it is? Pogba was awesome once he came on. I seriously think if someone offered 30m for Marchisio we should consider it. I know he's a Juve boy through and through and a national team regular, but would love to see us invest in Verratti as an eventual replacement for Pirlo, and 30m would go close to getting him. Marrone (Deserves more game time), Pogba, Vidal, Verratti, Asamoah (natural CM and not a wide player) in a few years time running the middle of the park once Pirlo calls it a day as well. Not half bad.

that was a fun game!
agree about verratti. i think asamoah on the left is mainly for defensive stability - but who would play there if he doesnt?, maybe a weak point now there is no giacherrini
i hear what you are saying about marchisio but this and next year is a good chance to push for champions league and he will still be worth that much then. its a tough one
pleanty to be positive about. great depth everywhere except that left side
bring on the season!

Zuniga and Kolarov are the ones that have been mentioned for the whole transfer window. They're both perfectly suited to the wing back role in Juve's system. We also have De Ceglie but haven't seen enough consistency from him to say he could be in the first eleven.mike17 wrote:David Puddy wrote:Well, that was definitely worth waking up for!

Never know what might happen in these final two weeks of the market anyway. Matri and Quags both look on the way out. Isla to Inter is back on again, so those moves could free up funds for that left side.

Did Loriente play and if not why is he not settling in ?

Re: Calciomercato Serie A
No he didn't play, but fark me, the season hasn't even started yet! Llorente is coming off a season where he played infrequently, new country and all that. Some players take longer than others to adjust. Before the 'Llorente out' brigade start, let's see the guy play first!

Astori to Napoli almost done (I hope).
This Matri to Napoli thing is becoming a saga - wish it would just hurry up already.

As for his bird, she's always welcome.

Re: Calciomercato Serie A
The advantage of Astori over some of the other names mentioned is that he is already accustomed to Serie A. He is only 25 and has about 4 seasons under his belt.PDog wrote:some pretty big wraps on Astori.El Pibe D'Oro wrote:Astori to Napoli almost done (I hope).

Does anyone know much about Taider from Bolonga? Seen F-ALL to know if he was worth the hassle.

Re: Calciomercato Serie A
Seen him a few times, more of an attacking midfielder. It's a signing along the lines of Belfodil and Icardi, one for the future, which may not help Inter's cause right now.

Even more disappointing that we won't get to see his Mrs on TV at the games anymore!Juventino wrote:Matri sold to Milan
But a decent fee in a deal that I think suits both sides, although we are now without a true number 9. Let's just hope that Llorente doesn't take too much longer to get settled and make an impact.

Re: Calciomercato Serie A
Conte has said that Marrone will leave Juve, not sure to who but hopefully only on loan or co-ownership.
How and why is Motta still in the squad? Would still like to see the Matri money spent on a left sided player. Zuniga or Kolarov would be nice.

Has dragged on longer than the Cavani soap opera.El Pibe D'Oro wrote:Zuniga renewal should be announced in the next 24 hours
He's being offered more than his probably worth to avoid losing him for free or worse still to Juve.
I wish he would just sign already.
Re: Calciomercato Serie A
They need to agree personal terms, but Milan have agreed a two-year deal with Real Madrid for Kaka. He'll be released by Real, so a free transfer move for Milan, should it all happen.

Re: Calciomercato Serie A
Let the madness that is transfer deadline day ensue.
Kaka officially to Milan now for the next 2 seasons. Can't really go wrong with a free transfer but let's hope for their sake that he can get over his injury troubles and make some sort of impact. If not, then 4m Euro per season in wages is going down the drain.
From a Juve perspective, Quagliarella looks on the way to the EPL, with reports that we will replace him with Gilardino. Much of a muchness really IMO.
Expect Marrone to leave temporarily as well.

Re: Calciomercato Serie A
No real surprises on the last day in the Serie A mercato.
Marrone to Sassuolo on co-ownership, while Juve sign half of Berardi. Anyone seen him play? Apparently lit it up in Serie B last season but haven't seen much of him.
Future Juve forward line looks extremely bright with Immobile, Boakye, Berardi, Zaza, Gabbiadini.

At least there are many Italians.David Puddy wrote:No real surprises on the last day in the Serie A mercato.

My concern of late it that most names suggested with us are imports.
We need to maintain at least half the line up as domestic players.

Re: Calciomercato Serie A
Majority of the season we will have Buffon, Bonucci, Chiellini, Barzagli, Pirlo as guaranteed starters, as well as many minutes for Marchisio and Ogbonna. I think we're doing our part, it's just the others teams that have to do theirs.BAGGIO 15 wrote:At least there are many Italians.David Puddy wrote:No real surprises on the last day in the Serie A mercato.
