Unbelievable experience for the kids today, the excitement on their faces was priceless, they all lifted yet another notch, which was great to watch

Well done Richie and thank you Rini !!

Just with all the calls from the clubs about where their money is going I thought recent new development initiatives might have been part of the equation that they had conveniently overlooked.

There have been some rumours around that this program won't be running next year.
From all reports and after seeing some of the improvements in a couple of boys in my lads team, it would be a bad decision to let this training end after one season.
Does anyone know or has heard at this early stage???

Currently FFA (Richie) runs the program.

The program will not be scrapped, but I think it will be run by the FFSA from next year (closely watched by FFA of course)

With what just happened between clubs and FFSA over costs etc I think that everything will be up in the air for a while.

A big thankyou to Richie and Vlado. Sap has concluded for 2011. Ten months of quality football development. To see the improvement of both squads throughout the year has been a pleasure to watch.

Good to see all the Junior Coaches throughout the year come out and watch some of these sessions.

Well done FFSA and FFA.

No it has changed recently, only 2000 and 2001 born kids, and a squad of 16 for each

FFSA clubs to nominate their technically advanced kids for these age groups, so each club shouldnt send every kid on the block, maybe 2 or 3 standouts only at their club in these age groups

Then 8 or 9 regions around Adelaide to have their individual trials, with Richie and a few helpers then selecting the best from those groups, to proceed to the next phase, one more central trial, where the final 16 for each age group to be selected

It is a FREE 10 mth programme run by the FFA

They want the 2000 to train 4 nights a week (3 with Richie, 1 with club) and 2001 to train 3 nights a week (2 with Richie, 1 with club) max 1-1.5 hrs a session

If anyone thinks this is too much for kids, please go to Europe and have a look there, u8s start training 3 times a week, its the norm. These kids are u10 and u11

Fantastic opportunity, good luck to all the kids trialling !!

Heard it all went well did training go as they suggested

Does anyone know what is happening with SAP next year, is the program continuing? Do the kids that were involved this year get automatic selection for next year?

Im pretty sure that SAP will continue next year, howerver it will more than likely be two zones and will be run by the FFSA, closely guided by the FFA.

In relation to kids getting automatic selection because they were invloved this year. IMO all kids should have to trial again to give everyone a opportunity. There are some kids out there that I know of that may have been selected if there Coaches or Clubs had given them the information to trial last year.

65 sessions in total

Every Monday, and probably 3 out of 4 Thursdays every month, with a week break every 5 or 6 weeks

All kids club trainings did not include a Mon, so every child trained atleast 3x a week

If a childs club training was NOT on a THURS, they then trained 4x a week (2 SAP + 2 club), but if their club training included a Thurs, they trained 3x a week (Mon/Thurs SAP + 1 club night)

Most parents found it hard to start with, but once we got into a routine early on, it just became habit and when there was a week off, our kids were nagging as to why SAP wasnt on this week .......... all the kids loved trainings !

And it is also great to see the bonds and friendships the kids have made between each other.
In years gone by, the talk from kids was 'we are playing AC, or Metro' or whoever, and other clubs were looked at like 'rivals'
Now, these kids are saying 'we are playing against 'Freds' or 'Bobs' team this Sunday, and they are looked at as friends now, and not rivals or enemies ............
