Although, it was a better performance and it might have something to do with me sitting on the bench

au contraire, the Ingle Farm Bs are much more stacked than we were.kinghenrik wrote:why the lack of confidence kitch? iggies B's not as stacked this year perhaps??Kitchimo wrote:I'm sure Ingle Farm will have no issues in winning the Reserve Cup this year.![]()
Not having a dig Jay, was just amazed to see a player of his calibre in the Cs. Now that you've explained it, it makes more sense.Jay Walking wrote: Blackburner, Torst had got back from South Africa a few days before the game and said he was available for selection so they played him in the C's. He only came off because we may have needed cover in the B's due to a players wife giving birth around the time of the game. Again, he just wanted to play a game to get rid of the jetlag, the 40 litres of Castle Larger he drank and try to get some fitness.
Was that just on the flight home.Jay Walking wrote:He is cup tied. Knights had him on the team sheet the weekend that he was involved with a wedding. Can't do much about it and the SAASL were sympathic to what happened, rules are rules. He was annoyed because he just wanted a game to get a bit more fitness after been away for 4-5 weeks. Not sure why Knights put him on there but they did and lucky we checked as we didn't realise until Friday when we called the league.
Mato, the big difference was that he wasn't at the ground, he was in a pub having lunch and a beer. Your coach had the opportunity to put you on as a sub if he wished. As I said, disappointing but such is life.

Especially when the player in question had nothing to do with the event ??????Bodø Glimt wrote:Rules should be rules. End of story.

Didn't play against Vipers.
Maybe someone at Knights knew his intentions after the World Cup and it was a bit of pay back - seems strange to put him on the team sheet when they knew he wasn't going to be at the game.
If we do draw Florina, I guarantee that it will be pulled out of the hat with one playing on Saturday and one playing on Sunday just to mess with us all.Hawkesy wrote:Iggies drawing Florina in both A's and B's would be interesting, or maybe just save that for the final.

The B grade should then give up there home advantage then and play the game where the A grade was drawn, whichever way round that would be.
to make it a better day, a double header would be more enjoyable than 2 x single games.Uncle Cracker wrote:Why?Hawkesy wrote:The B grade should then give up there home advantage then and play the game where the A grade was drawn, whichever way round that would be.
True and it might be more convenient for both clubs to play on the same day, but for example if our reserves were drawn to play sunday i doubt we would change it due to more players being available on sunday than saturday.Hawkesy wrote:to make it a better day, a double header would be more enjoyable than 2 x single games.Uncle Cracker wrote:Why?Hawkesy wrote:The B grade should then give up there home advantage then and play the game where the A grade was drawn, whichever way round that would be.
all hypothetical anyway, until the draw is actually made. Let's hold onto it until the final where there can be no complaints. I just hope our players are available what with it being on a sunday.Uncle Cracker wrote:True and it might be more convenient for both clubs to play on the same day, but for example if our reserves were drawn to play sunday i doubt we would change it due to more players being available on sunday than saturday.
Mate the only clown here is the guy at Knights who wrote his name down on the team sheet cos if someone says they are not coming it usually means they r not coming - how can there be any confusion in saying u r not coming to a game???dorian wrote: you really are ado you actually think the knights would do something like that just because a player chose to leave the club .Pay back for what dont understand torsten left the club because he wanted to on no bad terms at all . knights respected his decision and he is now back at the farm where he wants to be.
Just to set the record straight our previous coach, was hoping that Torsten was going to be able to make it for the second half (I am assuming he had a conversation with Torsten).bigpond wrote:Mate the only clown here is the guy at Knights who wrote his name down on the team sheet cos if someone says they are not coming it usually means they r not coming - how can there be any confusion in saying u r not coming to a game???dorian wrote: you really are ado you actually think the knights would do something like that just because a player chose to leave the club .Pay back for what dont understand torsten left the club because he wanted to on no bad terms at all . knights respected his decision and he is now back at the farm where he wants to be.
So if there was no malice in putting his name down then the guy who put his name on the sheet is the 1 who should be explaining to Torsten why he did so cos I would love to hear that reason..
Matty6 you are correct. I remember Toasty saying that to me on that Sunday at the lunch but he did contact someone at the club before the game to tell them he was not going to make it, I was there when he did it. Obviously it was not passed onto the team manager.MATTY6 wrote:Just to set the record straight our previous coach, was hoping that Torsten was going to be able to make it for the second half (I am assuming he had a conversation with Torsten).bigpond wrote:Mate the only clown here is the guy at Knights who wrote his name down on the team sheet cos if someone says they are not coming it usually means they r not coming - how can there be any confusion in saying u r not coming to a game???dorian wrote: you really are ado you actually think the knights would do something like that just because a player chose to leave the club .Pay back for what dont understand torsten left the club because he wanted to on no bad terms at all . knights respected his decision and he is now back at the farm where he wants to be.

There was no malice involved, We were playing a team that we assumed would be a lesser competitive team and thought it would be good to bring Torsten on in the second half hoping he would score just to boost his confidence.
Obviously there was a miss understanding because we know Torsten would fullfill a commitment he made.
He flew Virgin so he had to pay for drinks on the flightswannsong wrote:Was that just on the flight home.Jay Walking wrote:He is cup tied. Still not sure why he might have been on the team sheet ????
Unless the coach/manager wasn't sure if he was turning up or not ???
It would be a very rare precedent to set, someone being on the card, not even being at the ground, then transferring to another Club.....push harder, Knights should back you up on this (have you or the league asked Knights for reason/validation Jay ?).
Why cause he made the comment?callmecon wrote:HAhaha reading through the comments gave me something to laugh about today. Love the comment about hoping he would rock up at half time, so the name was put on the sheet!
Just one of those things, obviously no one meant to piss anyone off, maybe a bit of miscommunication, but llife will go on
We can't be that good if even I had to sit on the bench.bigpond wrote:with the players they have at there disposal Ingle Farm reserves would be the hottest of favourites to win the Cup.
Para Hills East will also do well but it all depends what side of the draw they r on.
Ingle Farm v East would be a good next round and give us others in the cup a chance
Callmecon, did you post this while on the bidet?callmecon wrote:HAhaha reading through the comments gave me something to laugh about today. Love the comment about hoping he would rock up at half time, so the name was put on the sheet!
