Yeah the game at your patch was a sore one for us but we failed to take numerous chances against Pumas at home otherwise we may have had a chance but alas not to be. Ingle Farm gave us a lesson two weeks ago but other than that we have played well this season. Many people have complained about refs cheating and people say cheats never win, but once the points are gone you cant get them back so cheats do win guys. I know i have slated one or two guys about it this year but looking at it we only really have been robbed of points in one game so we werent really cheated like maybe some of the other teams in the league. Looking back over the season i know i may have upset or even offended some people but i am a 90 minute nightmare and in retrospect realise where i have gone wrong but the lack of refs is a mjor concern and the people stepping into that situation deserve at least some credit. Some we might think cheat others dont know the rules etc, but the only people who know if they cheat are the people themselves. I wont be at Fulham next year i hope to play over 35s, but if that doesnt happen and the knee gives up who knows i might end up at a club near you.

Anyway all those involved in the final day games good luck.

Well said.... Plus not even pro refs get it right all the time so we cant expect it from amateur ones. Granted maybe decisions arent in your favour but you never complain about your home refs... its always the away ones. Why is this so? Are we to believe that your home refs get it right all the time? I seriously doubt it. You cant do nothing about it now anyway. If you were the better team then chances are, that even with the refs decisions going against you, you should have beaten them anyway.

Mega the ref might have given a penalty that shouldnt how do you explain the other 3 goals? Maybe if you had marked the substitute he wouldnt of scored the last 2 goals and possible sealed the premiership for the eagles.

And the ref did the right thing by calling the player back on after he showed the red card. He was aware the player was hot headed and he shouldnt off pushed the ref, and so was he and after a chat from your linesman he cancelled the card. It happened all within 30 seconds.

I was upset with the carry on by some off our players but the ref shouldnt have walked off. Both teams still wanted to play there was at least 20 minutes left so anything could of happened.

If a player shoves the ref then there is no excuse. The player should not only get sent off but should get a lengthy ban too.

I love it how everyone whinges about the refs. If its their home ref they dont complain, when its the away games ref they do. Its quite funny really.

Dukes, you are a muppet. It's appropriate that you've picked a useless tw@t of a player as your username!

We actually complain regularly about our home ref. At last count he's given 4 penalties against us this season and only 1 for. All were definite penalties, but I'm not sure others are so giving.

Hopefully he'll even that out in the last game of the season, especially as Farm got 2 penalties in the first round.

ive never said you didnt deserve to win. but dont tell me that a ref cant influence a game. he swore at our players, laughed at them, gave the penalty and even pinned me for foul throws (first time since under 6's :) ).
we allowed a cheating ref to get the better of our emotions and played crap. no excuses!!

spot on mega,

take nothing away from pontians played it very smart...and scored 3 lovely goals, i honestly dont like that ref though.....takes himeself way too seriously...home referee's will always be a problem and it really can be frustrating when clubs cant be fair , in the name of sportsmanship. I always tell my players in the big picture of things its only div 3 reserves and most dont train, so think about why u play....it cant just be about winning at this level...its also about the people you meet.

so as i understand it there was 20mins to go and you were losing 1-0. that can go either way at HQ. ive been i few and havent won many...good luck though i would be doing the same.

i think pontians should wrap it up, there's no way they can lose it from here and i'm sure the boys want a double championship...thats special...

u guys playing home or away this week?

Just heard the league will be providing an official referee for the reserves play off this week between Modbury Vista and Ingle Farm.

John can run the line perhaps?

Just further on that, our referee for B Team games (former SAASL ref) will be running the line for our club in this match too,

Well done SAASL for recognizing the importance of this match

So we wont be getting those 2 penalties after all? Well that's not very trusting of the Farm to request an official ref.

No one likes a dobber!

Oh, is that the same ref from your home game that sent one of us off and gave 2 penalties (and denied a certain one for us - he was 60 m behind play...). May aswell have blind man freddie running the line!

I think you might have just given us more incentives...

Nah, we were pretty poor that day. But were still in the game until some muppet on our team handled in the area and got sent off. Double whammy. Game over.

But it's a one off game and you guys have everything to lose, being top of the ladder.

I'll have that cry now....

Thanks!

That’s a bit harsh Vista_Bhoy, you do play in chardonnay Golden Grove right. You would think you’re having a bit of a cry because your home ref can't cheat to give you the league. If you are good enough then you'll win the league without the help of a home ref, and the Farm can't sook that your ref handed you the game. I think this puts you in a good position win the league fair and square.

I thought the amateur league had a shortage of Ref's. Who pulled what strings here? :?: :?:

No, I "play" in a far more illustrious environment than Golden Grove. 8)

Card-onnay (as you farmers pronounce it) isn't served at our well sctocked bar  , as the song goes........"We only drink bottles of bourbon and Brown.......the Modbury boys are in town.......nah nah nah nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah nah..........hey!

If a ref is supplied, brilliant. Our b ref is too honest and has a habit of calling things in accordance with the "laws" of the game, unlike most home town refs in the reserve grades across the SAASL.

Bring it on, we'll put a bottle of card-onnay on ice for you to help us celebrate Vista's win.

Cant wait for this one Farmers. Very glad to see it is an official ref. No one can blame the ref after the game (although it is inevitable someone will be)

For the record in the first game the Farmers first goal was offside and the ref told the linesman to put his flag down even though he was about 20m behind play. Vista stupidly gifted the second goal to Farm. Then our muppet handballed to give you the game just as we were looking to get back into it.

Vista have a different side this time around. lots of players back from injury.

Credit where credit is due though, Farm are the form side in ressies at the moment.

Hi Chris,

We are playing away this week and I agree with you the boys should take it a little more lightly considering the level they are playing. As for our ref the week before I think enough has been said and Mega you got pinned twice i think for foul throws. Oh well lets hope you guys can get promoted and then we can meet each other next year along with Limnos.
