It is a strong squad but with a few question marks Drago being no.1??? he played only a couple of games this season & he's the other side of fourty??? I wouldve prefered to see more youth in the squad, thats just my opinion though congratulations & good luck to all that made the state squad.SAOPAOLO 10 wrote:who is martin barber, and how did he gain selection. isnt drago klajic retired? apart from these two, fantastic squad.

A lot of Saturday League players walked away from the 'trials' because it was obvious that 'Stormin' Norman' & Co. had already selected most of the squad before they even started the first session.
It was 'old pals' night with lots of laughs, back-slapping, knowing nods & winks and brown-nosing under way between the coaches and those pre-selected.
This squad was picked on reputations rather than ability or potential - not a move designed to lift the profile of the Amateur leagues.
In future seasons let's have some coaches who are not part of the 'old boys' network.

A MASSIVE fire overnight has put an end to the Glenorchy Football Club's premiership celebrations -- and destroyed the historic Cresswell Beakley Stand at KGV.
Fire crews responded to the blaze at 12.50am this morning, finding the stand engulfed in flames.
Before they had a chance to begin firefighting operations, the flames spread into rooms beneath the grandstand.
The rooms include the Glenorchy Junior Football Club rooms, the past players' rooms, a weights gym and the away team's change rooms.
It has been less than a month since Glenorchy beat arch rival Clarence to take out the SFL Premier League title.
Glenorchy player and junior development officer Matt Dillon said it was a cruel way to have to halt celebrations.
"The junior football club will probably be the worst hit, as all of their equipment and uniforms were stored in the rooms,'' Mr Dillon said.
"This club has plenty of support, though, and we will be able to get through it.''
The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but the Tasmania Fire Service estimates the cost of damages to be about $600,000
