Think he will do alright tbh. Didn't think we could rely on him as a second choice originally, but he's looked pretty good in the Europa League games he's played this season.NickyTanner wrote:time for Brad Jones to show his value in the coming games.

Apparently Borini is out for a few months now! This must be a big loss for Rodgers losing this prolific goal machine when they don't have many strikers as it is!

Last time I looked Suarez was one goal behind the leagues top scorers...with no penalties which is equal RVP who has penalties.

Kind of agree, but I can only think of 1 save Jones had to make (that 1 on 1 with his legs) apart from that should have been game over at HT.
Satisfied with the win considering the trend this year would have been another headbanging 0-0.
Surprised Suarez played a full 90 considering the round trip he made from Bolivia and playing the 2nd half with a dead leg. If Enrique isn't fit, see no reason why he shouldn't be starting.

Wasn't so much that they threatened our goal, we threatened our own goal with awful defending. A good team would have created chances from that kind of play. The Kop wrote:Kind of agree, but I can only think of 1 save Jones had to make (that 1 on 1 with his legs) apart from that should have been game over at HT.

Re: Liverpool 2012/13
There was a lot of nerves out there, both on and off the pitch.
It wasn't great but we did play some good stuff again, having not won at home there was pressure!
And Barry Horne spoke some rubbish.

Who would he put on for Suarez, its not as if you have a plethora of strikers? I cant see Suarez been taken off in too many EPL games. Shit you guys need to make some purchases in JanuaryThe Kop wrote:Kind of agree, but I can only think of 1 save Jones had to make (that 1 on 1 with his legs) apart from that should have been game over at HT.

Liverpool are one striker short for now. I wouldn't want to see more than that in January.Stewie Griffin wrote:Who would he put on for Suarez, its not as if you have a plethora of strikers? The issue is the same as last season, missing chances!!!!
Re: Liverpool 2012/13
TBH I think if we went 2-0 up he would have taken him off and put the youngster Yesil on. Otherwise I don’t think Gerrard would be a bad shout for striker. His best seasons were closest to goals and I don’t think he’s in our best midfield trio when Lucas is fit.Stewie Griffin wrote:Who would he put on for Suarez, its not as if you have a plethora of strikers? Playing an inexperienced player upfront or someone out of position vs not managing Suarez’s fitness properly. The lesser of two evils is clearly the first.
Suarez hasn’t had an offseason since 2009 (World Cup 2010, Copa America 2011, Olympics 2012) and wants to be involved in every single minute of every single game. To top it off, he’s not a natural athlete just someone who plays with a lot of willpower to keep running. I see a big iceberg ahead with Suarez’ fitness.

Not easy if he is not in the squad.TBH I think if we went 2-0 up he would have taken him off and put the youngster Yesil on.

Anyway, he should have been in the squad. Strange to go into a home game against a team you should be beating comfortably with 1 half-fit striker in the 18.

Only 1 striker short? Who are the other strikers that are decent for a run in the 1st team?NickyTanner wrote:Liverpool are one striker short for now. If you lose Suarez to injury for a long time you guys will struggle

Given that we play with one striker, three first team strikers (Suarez, ?, Borini), as well as a promising young striker (Yesil) should be plenty.

Oh and how long has Enrique's dad been a commentator?
Couldn't believe what I was hearing when he came off the bench.

Wesley Sneijder?
perfect. Massive wages, a bit washed up, close to 30, might leave on a free but Inter now quoting 10m upon Liverpool interest.
Has Liverpool written all over it. English Messi, Gerrard and Sneijder AKA the pedestrian attacking midfield.
(wouldn't mind him if it was a cheap low-risk option - but that won't happen Italian clubs love dealing with LFC)
