Never saw much of Richards or Tendulkar to have an opinion but Lara was good. Aussies haven’t really seen Root at his best which can be very very good, I for one am hoping he gets to put on a big show for you lot before he retires. Still contend that if (and that is if) he gets to 16000 he must be considered the greatest batsmen

Its opinions, and I'm just stating that I've seen better players/batsmen. In fact, the english players that impressed me when it comes to stats are Jack Hobbs and Len Hutton. Different era, I know, but just saying you have to be careful when using "greatest" it's not just by mere weight of aggregate runs, it's the average, who against, the era etc.
