Our Super manager on a million pounds a week has a mickey mouse cup and a couple of draws against Chelsea to show for his efforts.

All the while, Hamburg who lost 2 of their stars recently are top of the Bundesliga. Young up and coming boss called Martin Jol at the helm. Sounds good, maybe we should get him in.

The game where Spurs drew 1-1 with Man U at home last season is where I expected Spurs to go. They chased and closed down the midfield brilliantly that day, would make them competitive with any side. Maybe they play a like a top side who think they should dominate games against all teams outside top 4 i.e. Better against the top 4 (except us  ) by respecting them and putting men behind the ball, but go way too attacking against the rest of the comp instead of showing them more respect defensively, but these teams will commit more forward than they would against the current top 4.

Tottenham head coach Juande Ramos insists it is too early to write off hopes of a top-four finish despite the defeat by Aston Villa bringing about the club's worst start to a Premier League season.

''We've only played four games, it's only just begun,'' said the Spaniard. ''There is still room for us there. We had very little time to prepare - (Vedran) Corluka, (Roman) Pavlyuchenko and (Fraizer) Campbell are new to the club and haven't really had time.

''We are behind in our preparations. We need to keep the spirit going and climb as high up the table as possible.

''We've made an irregular start to the season having lost three games which makes it an uphill struggle for us.''

Ramos insists he has faced bigger challenges in his career and feels he has the quality in his squad to kick-start their season.

''We've got a young squad with plenty of quality there and hopefully with calmness and experience we'll get a positive result and after that things could well change for us,'' he said.

''I'm not going to carry out an assessment after just one game. Don't forget this is the same squad that beat Roma 5-1.

''We've had good results against Celtic and Roma, I know that was in pre-season but they were great games and we have very good footballers.''

Ramos admitted he was furious with his players but refused to single out Heurelho Gomes, who was at fault for Ashley Young's strike just after the break.

''I'm always angry at the end of games like this with the players and myself as well,'' Ramos said.

''The blame I give to the goalkeeper is the blame that is due to him, like the other players. On other occasions he also stopped them scoring goals.

''I think he was absolutely magnificent apart from that goal.''

The team needs to gel. A Lot of players have come in. Especially now with Vedran, Roman and Frazier coming in.

Can't you Arse supporters stick to the Arse thread? or at least have a clue what you are talking about.

Wisla beat Barcelona in thier home leg for the champs league qualifiers... so it definately isn't a done tie.

Fraizer on a high

Fraizer Campbell was delighted after playing a key role in our UEFA Cup first round first leg victory on his Spurs debut.

The striker, on loan from Manchester United for the season, crossed for Darren Bent to head home and give us a 2-1 lead in our tie with Wisla Krakow.

But more than the England Under-21 international's personal impact on the game, he is well aware that our first win of the season was the most important thing to come out of last night.

Nonetheless, he was delighted to take the opportunity to impress Head Coach Juande Ramos after being introduced as a second half substitute.

Fraizer said: "It was my first appearance in a Spurs shirt and I really enjoyed it, but we got the result, which was the most important thing.

"Young players have always got to bide their time, but when you get the opportunity to get on the pitch, you've got to do the best you can.

"Now we've got a difficult game against Wigan on Sunday, but we've got this win under our belts now, which will hopefully give us the kick-start we needed."

Tottenham lacking leadership, claims Melchiot

Wigan Athletic captain Mario Melchiot believes Tottenham Hotspur's poor start is down to a lack of on-field leadership for their foreign legion.

Melchiot will lead out the Latics at White Hart Lane on Sunday, when the home side will be looking for their first Premier League win of the season.

Spurs have made their worst league start in 34 years, taking just one point from their opening four games despite coach Juande Ramos having splashed out over £60million this summer.

Although David Bentley and Vedran Corluka have Premier League experience, Ramos has signed Croatian midfielder Luka Modric and Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko from their domestic leagues.

And Ramos has also allowed 10 first-team squad members to move on, including star strike pair Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane.

"They have a lot of new faces, and some people might say it has been done too quickly," said Melchiot.

"As an outsider looking at the team, they have a lot of quality and they are just waiting for it to gel.

"They have lost a lot of Premier League experience, players who know the league well, and they have brought in players who have to get used to this league.

"When you are in a team and everything is new - the league, the language, all the foreigners around each other - they are all looking at each other and it can be difficult.

"I experienced it when I arrived in England, and now they (Tottenham) are going through the same thing."

Melchiot first moved to the Premier League with Chelsea in 1999 before Wigan boss Steve Bruce took him to Birmingham in 2004.

The Dutch defender was reunited with former Blues team-mate Emile Heskey at Wigan, and Bruce has brought in four more of his St Andrews signings since taking charge of the Latics last November.

Melchiot feels that has helped establish an effective team unit at the JJB Stadium, where Wigan are aiming to build on last season's 14th-placed finish.

"It's a different situation at this club," he added.

"Last year the gaffer didn't have the time to make his mark, but over the summer he has been able to focus on it.

"You also have a lot of players here who have known each other for a long time, like myself and Emile - captain and vice-captain - who have played with each other before.

"That helps because whenever the heat is on, we are the two guys the gaffer will look at, guys who can put things right.

"Although we're a stronger squad, we're also a better team, the quality has improved.

"People say we're not glamorous, but you don't have to be glamorous to be better.

"Against Sunderland when we went 1-0 down, we knew we could score a goal, whereas last season we didn't always have that feeling."

Amr Zaki's late equaliser gave the Latics a 1-1 draw against Sunderland last week and took the Egypt striker's goal tally to five in five games since arriving on a year-long loan deal.

Melchiot reckons the Wigan set-up has played a large part in Zaki settling in and fulfilling his potential so quickly.

"The guy is just a goalscorer," he said.

"He has come here and from day one he has shown us what he wants, and that's to score goals.

"If somebody hits the ground running that's also due to the people around them.

"They make that person more comfortable than perhaps he thought he would be because of the language problems. We've helped him settle, and that's made it easier for him."
