Draft Junior League Structure

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
I see the final structures have been released. Huge difference in the numbers of teams in divisions within the same age group. Some teams get 22 games and others just 16.
Re: Draft Junior League Structure
magnet - released to clubs?? or on the FFSA website? I went to the FFSA but couldnt see a thing just came up with '2017' but no pools or structures.
Clarification would be appreciated.....

Interesting they moved from 10 to 12 teams with Western Strikers and WA coming in from the 10 team draft league. I wonder why this has happened?Slide Tackle wrote:JPL 16 A

How does The Cove get dropped to JPL B when they ended up 4th on the ladder last season?
Campbelltown stays in JPL A when they came bottom? This has changed from the draft team lists.

It's what happens when you're one of the FFSA's favourite little clubs.fball12 wrote:How does The Cove get dropped to JPL B when they ended up 4th on the ladder last season?

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
Maybe it was requested by the Cove due to player movements and CCSC have benefited from this.fball12 wrote:Slide Tackle wrote:fball12 wrote:Under 15 and U16 JPL A teams pls

Must have lost or pushed up many players to warrant going from 4th on the ladder in JPL A to JPL B.

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
Cove would have requested the move, as you said, probably due to some player movement making them less competitive.fball12 wrote:How does The Cove get dropped to JPL B when they ended up 4th on the ladder last season?

Hawks also requested a move which means West Adelaide (who didn't win a game all season) remain in the B's
South Adelaide have no teams in the U15 JPL or JSL structures despite having two U14 teams!
Re: Draft Junior League Structure
Why didn't the 3rd and 4th U14 JPL B teams get the option to move up i.e. Playford and Eastern United?
Campbelltown were bottom by a long way (3 wins, -58 goal difference, 25 goals scored, 83 conceded). On those stats they don't deserve a spot in JPL A.

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
If Campbelltown are going to struggle as much as they did last season it won't do them or the div any favours. Wouldn't it make more sense to put them in div 2 and promote playford, heard they only missed out on promotion by a point

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
Aren't the A's more likely to get more of a run in the cup than the C's? How the hell are they going to fit in 26 games in a season? Honestly, the logic from the FFSA is bafflingmagnet wrote:I see the final structures have been released. Huge difference in the numbers of teams in divisions within the same age group. Re: Draft Junior League Structure
Could you please put up the updated list of 13s A. B and C along with 14s A, B and C ?
Re: Draft Junior League Structure
Same reason cos Blue Eagles who finished 2nd bottom in 14A didn't go down - cos some clubs like Campbelltown and Blue Eagles are a protected species and FFSA will kiss their butts at every opportunity.fball12 wrote:Why didn't the 3rd and 4th U14 JPL B teams get the option to move up i.e. Playford and Eastern United?

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
Exactly, U13 structure completely reshaped to make sure ABE got in the A's despite finishing sixth.bigpond wrote:Same reason cos Blue Eagles who finished 2nd bottom in 14A didn't go down - cos some clubs like Campbelltown and Blue Eagles are a protected species and FFSA will kiss their butts at every opportunity.fball12 wrote:Why didn't the 3rd and 4th U14 JPL B teams get the option to move up i.e. Playford and Eastern United?

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
Whilst I agree with you, Cumberland was the issue there. They were swapped divisions as the "South" division was too easy for them. They then finished 5th but took a "South" spot in the A division.magnet wrote:Exactly, U13 structure completely reshaped to make sure ABE got in the A's despite finishing sixth.bigpond wrote:Same reason cos Blue Eagles who finished 2nd bottom in 14A didn't go down - cos some clubs like Campbelltown and Blue Eagles are a protected species and FFSA will kiss their butts at every opportunity.fball12 wrote:Why didn't the 3rd and 4th U14 JPL B teams get the option to move up i.e. Playford and Eastern United?

Re: Draft Junior League Structure
That sounds reasonable but even even if you included Cumberland in the U12 JPL Red it still becomes uneven. 3 from Red, 3 from Blue and 6 from Yellow including Croydon who finished bottom.God is an Englishman wrote: Whilst I agree with you, Cumberland was the issue there. Has it changed then because Croydon were in the B division?magnet wrote:That sounds reasonable but even even if you included Cumberland in the U12 JPL Red it still becomes uneven. 3 from Red, 3 from Blue and 6 from Yellow including Croydon who finished bottom.God is an Englishman wrote: Whilst I agree with you, Cumberland was the issue there. The FFSA generally contacts teams to ask whether they want to be promoted if a spot arises. I would assume none of the other teams fancied it which is why Croydon got in.
