Well done to Gardens yesterday deserved the points, as stated before could of been a lot more if not for benny in goals. Cheers for the drink rodent it ws the one that pushed me over the edge only remember pieces of the night from there on, I know the trouble and strife wasnt to happy this morning with me and she was in the daughters bed when I awoke this morning, so must of been a good day. I take back the only 3 beers for sale as they had boat loads of everything and my favourite at the moment carlton dry...cheers for that, big thanks to a merv looking bloke behind the bar who was dishing up some tasty bourbon for dirt cheap. Once again well done to everyone at gardens for thier hospitality and all the best for the rest of the year but not to much best and a draw or two would be nice along the way...

What a fantastic promotion for the world game yesterday. regardless whether it was FFSA or SAASL .
Neutrual supporters travelling as far as Victor Harbor . Quite a few of the Sturt Marion boys were there as well..

Be interesting to see if a pic was taken of the crowd. Almost surrounding the whole of the pitch .
Parafield could have finished the game of before half time. Benny Aldridge showed why he is one the best goalkeepers in the league .
Stammers with limited work but pulled off a blinder of a save to deny Trimboli the equaliser.

Oh and the Hamburgers were awesome.

Cheers Legless ...I can't believe that you have never been inside our club before !!
It was great that you and many others came in after the game so we could reciprocate the
hospitality shown to us by the Downs.

not sure witch keeper breaks my heart the most . stammy won the game for gardens when we went down to them one zip earlier in the year .
but would rate aldridge no 1 keeper of the amateur league for 2013 .

Best of luck to Gardens for rest of the season, certainly deserved it yesterday but still 720 minutes of football left in the league for Season 2013.....

I, like Legga stayed for a while after the game and its the first time I and me family had stepped into the club for any length of time. It was a good crowd in there with some continuing good natured banter.

Can I just make two small observations. As with most games me junior needs to use the toilets and thankfully you guys have a disabled facility (not the biggest but at least you have one). Can I please ask that these facilities not be used as a store room ala Metrostars... cue Lefty! I would hate to damage anything in there or go see Centrelink an tell em I can' t finish me trolley collectors traineeship due to me collapsed disc

And good to see Prince Nuggy's cars took up both disabled parks........

And Rodent? How do you and the Big Cat get on when you're in the same room.... :D

Well it was a pretty good game last Sunday wasn't it.

I was lucky enough to get a lift down to the game, but due to a lack of planning on my behalf, I was not wearing enough layers of clothing and the conditions were somewhat chilly. I was able to watch the game from the comfort of my mates car (which I can assure everybody was not parked in the disabled parks). I really enjoyed watching the game from the car (with binoculars), with Cruise 1323 providing the perfect backing soundtrack with classic hits from Chicago, Neil Diamond, Toto and many more.

I thought Gardens controlled the play much better than the Downs (especially in the first half), and the Downs were really missing Morrison down back and Day in the middle. I'm assuming that number 8 from the Downs was given the responsibility of marshalling the defence in Morrisons absence, and I thought he failed. The number 2 from the Gardens twice missed comfortable shots on goal due to poor defence, and the Downs keeper pulled off a nice save to deny another (good to see him taking his own goal kicks!!).

The biggest thing that sticks in my mind from the second half are the actions of the Jack Russell for the Downs. I believe he was the number 4. From what I saw, he clearly suffers from SMS (not a text message related disorder, but Short Man Syndrome). He was on a mission to get sent off and was quite lucky not to when he threw a cheeky headbutt which incurred a yellow, however I think the Referee did not see it properly. But he obviously is tough, due to the stickers he has on his left arm.

All in all a good day, and a good result which livens up the league chase. The burgers were slightly better, but a long way to go to rival Ingle Farm's food, or my left over salt and vinegar chips which I found Sunday night for that matter. I'm off to the specialist tomorrow so hopefully I can get my moon boot put on. Wish me luck.

Well princess I hope the view from the car was warm for you, you weak ...bloke. You know what this don't surprise me at all this post, having a go at a lad who plays the game as it used to be played. Tough.

It's plonkers like you that have made the game what it is now, yeah, you probably personally wrap players in cotton wool before the games!

The lad that your talking about is trying to bring back the hay day of tough football. It has to start small, like, so a top of the table clash in amateur football is perfect, I'm not sure that starting small had to do with the stature of the man tho, could have picked the big skin head Greek striker for the maroons, he looks meaner. But it's a start, and a great start. Well done the ref for condoning head butting by just showing the yellow.

We will know what game you go to next week not only with the moon boot, but the mittens you will be wearing!

Wow, take that one Prince Nuggett! And here I am thinking it was only current players, or supporters, who are actually affiliated with a club who get defensive. Good for you big tackle, you tell 'em who's boss.
