Knights grabbed the lead early through Tom Foglia and had a goal disallowed soon after.
Florina grabbed an equaliser from a long (wind assisted) clearance from Jamie Hart.
After the break Florina, mainly through some excellent stops from Hart, kept a very frustrated Knights goal less and were able to break through Knights defence twice to take all 3 points.

Reserves
Southern Knights ( 0 ) Salisbury Florina ( 0 )
Knights, despite being reduced to 10 players after about 17 minutes, took the game right up to Florina
And probably had more chances to put the visitors away.
Felt like a loss in the reserves, credit to your boys who I thought were unlucky not to score. Going to be very hard for teams to take points away from Knights at home this season
Well Done to Florina in the first team, first half I thought we had them, probably unlucky not to be a few up. Second half was a different story with a much better performance from Florina leading to a deserved win

In the reserves Florina dominated the first 20 minutes - when it was 11v11, however after playing 11v10 although dominating possession failed to use the extra man effectively. As mentioned Knights had the better chances, so in some ways felt like a loss to us!

Cheers to the Florina boys for coming in after, will do the same when we see you in a few months
Are you Bodo in disguise?

Fulham looking forward to testing themselves against the measuring stick of the comp.
Mudpond I think you need to take your hand of your measuring stick !
Well Gardens had there go and failed to get anything off the Downs as has everyone else.

We did beat them all be it at home last year - 1 thing I can guarantee you we wont be losing 9-0!!!

Mate if we lose 9-0 we should be getting heaps and questions should be asked no matter who you are playing - any team that loses 9-0 in Sun Div 1 (not Ressies or C grade but Sund Div 1 A Team) should be absolutely ashamed and I stand by that.

It was a very dark and bad day for the Vale on Sunday. We definitely played poorly and the Downs played very well and took complete advantage. The Vale went into the game a bit depleted and suffered a few injuries through the game as well, which didn't help, but this was no excuse to be beaten 8-0. Overall the Downs have a very good side all over the park and we were outplayed convincingly all over the park.
No time for us to bury our heads though, we have to cop that loss (and a big loss it was) and dust ourselves off and get ready for another big test against Parafield who also have a strong team. I am sure Chris & the lads will get back on track and want to reward their supporters with a much better performance this week.

Did vale have anyone sent off?
I believe they lost Mark Burbridge and Dave westell in the first half due to injuries (not sure what the score was at that stage but I'm sure that didn't help the cause)
nathan day and scotty morrison came off to rest niggles all part of the game...really should have been 15..0..i dont think mr. nicholls will be trying 3 at the back zonal defence for a while that one certainly did not work

Yes, been going through over 1000 photos from 4 games Panthers v Modbury, Sturt v Adelaide Titans, Southern Knights v Florina (2 games)...plus had a meeting last night, meeting tonight, training tomorrow, meeting Thursday, housework to do....takes me about 3-6 hours per game to process, upload, post links etc... patience is a virtue :D
